  1. You deserve a morning off - enjoy! I also need to catch up with Bake Off and fully intend to do so later... Has anyone read 'Lessons in Chemistry'? - I have read some favourable reviews...I am currently sending a book each week (via Amazon) to my poor sister in hospital and I am fast running out of ideas
  2. Yep! that's it exactly!
  3. Interesting - I have completely lost my reading mojo - not sure why...
  4. Velcro strips to 'undo' if you see what I mean - hmm that's not a good explanation really
  5. A weighted blanket? Velcro strips? Bubble wrap? Do you have a school/class newsletter - could you put out a request for items? One of my 'fiddlers' loved an old fashioned spinning top ... We need fm on the case - bet she would have loads of ideas Will keep thinking!
  6. Thank you both x These birthdays come round far too fast🤣 I had a lovely day - time well spent with friends and family❤️
  7. Good morning - tis Friday Happy half-term to those who get a break now! Hope everyone survived Storm Babet in one piece Have a lovely weekend x
  8. Oooh you are talking my language - love, love, love a list or three!
  9. This made me smile - talking to my youngest granddaughter about school dinner, she told me that the pudding choices were fruit or apple crumble and custard - "I had the apple crumble and custard without the apple crumble" 🤦‍♀️🤣
  10. I feel your pain louby and as you say why send her child if that's the way she feels
  11. Good morning - 'tis Friday! How is everyone - fast approaching half-term now! Update on my sister and thanks for asking/caring - she had an operation on Wednesday - long, long time in theatre they did all procedures in one go - she was not in a good place yesterday - tired, stressed and probably still full of anaesthetic - this morning she is far more positive and upbeat...proud of her for that Onwards and upwards! Hope that the weekend is kind to all x
  12. Have loved reading all your news my Friday friends! My poor sister, thanks for asking, it's all a bit of a disaster for her (that could be the understatement of the century) - in a nutshell her operated leg became so infected that she was moved to another hospital (Brighton) where an operation was carried out to open the wound and clean - but the situation was far worse than envisioned - tomorrow she faces another op to remove the knee replacement and then maybe Wednesday another op to insert a rod to 'fuse' her leg - this will leave her with a completely straight leg - horror of horrors the only alternative is amputation... It is all so unbelievably stressful for her. I have no idea if she will cope with this 'fused leg', she is 77 and full of Rheumatoid Arthritis. Bet you wish you had never asked! In other and better news - weather is incredible here today - hot, hot, hot - have been busy in my garden find this such a good distraction
  13. Good morning - 'tis Friday Hope everyone is okay? Have a lovely weekend x
  14. Missing our Panders 💔 we would have been busy discussing Strictly now...
  15. Wow! We made £533.00 - how lovely - people are so generous
  16. Good morning - 'tis Friday! Early start for me today as I am helping at our village Macmillan Coffee Morning - hope that we are busy and make lots of money 🤞 Hope everyone is okay? Have a lovely weekend x
  17. Oh Gezabel - I am so happy for them (and you) - keeping everything crossed here xxx
  18. Oh how lovely young Froglet - nothing like new baby cuddles ❤️ I thought of you earlier - I was watching 'Celebrity Antique Roadshow' and they featured 'well dressing' - I thought oh yes, I know all about that courtesy of young Froglet!
  19. Please no snow! 🤣 I need good drying weather please - slowly working my way through washing all of the items that we used to soak up water - old duvets, towels - you name it I used it 🤦‍♀️🤣 I could chuck some really but it's all useful when we have granddogs come to stay!
  20. Louby - you poor thing! What on earth is happening to us? All good wishes from my disaster area to yours xxx
  21. Good morning - 'tis Friday I have come to the conclusion that we have offended 'the Gods' - first the drain problems, then a boiler breakdown and this week our hot water tank developed a leak which came through our sitting room ceiling 😧 never mind, I remind myself that all of these problems are fixable and that people would pay to have my problems! Mr S is receiving appointments for tests pre op thick and fast now - such a shame that these tests can't be coordinated and held on one day - but really just thankful that things seem to be moving for him now 🤞 My sister is still in hospital, not much more to say about that... Hope that everyone is okay - soon be half-term! 🤣 Wishing a lovely weekend to all x
  22. Good luck from me too (and no way Jose would I have the meeting recorded) - do let us know how you get on
  23. Yay! A new tadpole - welcome to the world little man and huge congratulations to all x I will have to Google 'Bishop's badge' - it sounds impressive to me - congratulations to your dad Jabs were okay - the surgery were aiming to vaccinate 800 people yesterday - it is a well oiled machine and I love that all involved are so chirpy - from car park stewards (volunteers) to the indoor stewards to the vaccinators - great teamwork! Not too bad side-effects - I slept like the dead while poor Mr S had a very disturbed night - sore arms today but that's all - so glad to hopefully have some renewed protection on board
  24. Every time you post about your granddaughter - I think 'oh I like that little girl' - she sounds right up my street - I am with her on the scissors and glue - where are they!
  25. Hi Poppy Some great advice above What is the mum doing while she is in the setting? I wouldn't be happy if she is interacting with other children, also have you had a conversation with her about confidentiality? I wouldn't be happy if she is observing and then discussing other children with goodness knows who... I like the idea of asking if she trusts you - if not she really needs to 'move on' - kind of crazy that the child is not a 'new starter' and she still wants to be there with you Good luck with it all
