  1. Good morning - 'tis Friday Another week has flown by... We are busy sorting dear MIL's house - that's a pretty depressing job but every now and then there is a really happy find which lightens the load - we are taking the day off today and will get back to it tomorrow - eventually we will get a house clearance company in but we need to remove all of the personal 'stuff' first...it has brought into the focus the need for me to sort my own house properly 🤦‍♀️ We have our dear little granddog with us - she arrived yesterday and will stay until Tuesday - she is a lovely distraction. Hoping everyone is okay and that the Easter weekend is full of things that are precious to each of you xxx
  2. Eggscellent arts and crafts louby!
  3. Oh zigzag I'm so sorry that you have been so poorly... Ah now the first rule of grandparenting is 'say nothing unless directly asked for advice' 🤣 but goodness knows that is hard at times!
  4. Hiya Mousie lovely to hear from you I am more than happy to hear about 'work stuff' - don't think that I will ever actually leave early years behind x
  5. Good morning - 'tis Friday How is everyone This year is going to fly by - can't believe that March is coming to a close...very much looking forward to the clocks change and the lighter evenings No exciting plans for the weekend. Will have a granddog arriving Wednesday or Thursday - eldest son's dear little Sprocker Spaniel 🐶 she will be with us for a week - sweet little dog ❤️ Hope that the weekend is kind to all x
  6. Oooh - they are very special - what a lovely gift
  7. Louby you will need to a get a wriggle on if you are going to book it is closing in May... My verdict is that I loved it - the venue holds 3000 and I have never come across 3000 such happy people! I would say that you have to love really loud music - the sort that vibrates in your chest - and that you also need to be a bit of an Abba super-fan which I am! I would go again tomorrow and the day after if I had the chance!
  8. Curried Parsnip soup is lovely. Parsnips also freeze well. I do love a parsnip or three! 🤣
  9. Good morning - 'tis Friday Bit of an odd week - my poor eldest granddaughter is still being 'troubled' by Quinsy - it gets drained but the comes up again - this week it has been lanced as opposed to aspirated - awful procedure for her but hoping that this might work...they are saying now that they will perform a tonsillectomy within six weeks... The meningitis outbreak is on our doorstep - my heart goes out to the two bereaved families 💔 let's hope that this new vaccine rollout can be extended. That's the bad news The good news is that I am going to Abba Voyage with three of my 'singing friends' this Sunday - I am very excited! Hope everyone is okay? Happy weekend all x
  10. Ooh that's really lovely
  11. Good morning - 'tis Friday! Beaten by young Froglet and louby today 🤣 'because they just want to relax' would get double points from me! ❤️ Happy birthday to your lovely mum young Froglet... I seem to have been quite busy but not sure what I have actually achieved... It was blowing an absolute hoolie here last night - we lost power but think everything else is still intact - phew! We haven't been up to our little field so need to do that just to make sure everything is okay up there. 🤞 Nothing planned for tomorrow Sunday will find us at eldest son's house for a Mother's Day Sunday lunch very nice - hope my DIL's mum will be there too she is lovely so nice that we get on so well... Next week is shaping up to be crazy busy - hey ho - sure I will manage! Happy weekend all x
  12. Good morning - 'tis Friday Weather here has been just beautiful all week ☀️ long may it last! Quite a busy week - nothing very exciting. Looking after two youngest grandchildren tomorrow afternoon really looking forward to that Hope everyone is okay? Have a good and hopefully sunny weekend x
  13. Good morning - 'tis Friday Funny old week here - eldest granddaughter has been 'proper poorly' with Quinsy - sounds like a word straight out of a Dicken's novel...have to confess that I had no idea what it meant She has had lots of great hospital treatment involving drips with steroids, penicillin and fluids - then a needle aspiration to draw out the pus (yuck) - latest update this morning is that she is and I quote "feeling much better today" - phew! Estate Agent coming to value MIL's house for probate this afternoon - poor Mr S he just wishes this wasn't happening and that his dear mum was still with us... Anyway enough already. On Sunday I will be going out for lunch with my sister to celebrate a (very) big birthday - although she is now disabled following her botched knee op she really has come on in leaps and bounds 🤞 Zigzag is being a bit of a temptress there with her felting supplies 🤣 I have far too many knitting projects on the go so I am able to resist! Hope the weekend is kind to all x
  14. Awe she is a sweet little fairy louby
  15. Crikey zigzag 😧
  16. Good morning - 'tis Friday A nice quiet week - yay -I was more than ready for that. Tomorrow Mr S and I are treating one of his cousins and his wife to a nice pub lunch - they were so helpful in notifying extended family members about MIL's passing and funeral arrangements - we are very grateful and want to thank them... I am liking the look of next week's weather forecast - do hope that it is correct - warmer, some sun and no more rain - yes please, bring it on! Hope that everyone is okay Have a good weekend all x
  17. Never - she is just helping you and keeping you updated on goods available from 'The Works' 🤣 I even found myself thinking 'oh do I need any pipe cleaners, they are a real bargain - clearly, I do not need any pipe cleaners 🤦‍♀️ I also spent an age looking at the orange 'things' and puzzling about what they are (carrots of course got there in the end!) 🤣
  18. Good morning - 'tis Friday ...and breathe - all went very well for my dear MIL and I thank you again for your kind thoughts and support ❤️ How is everyone? Half term now - I always find it hard to believe that this one marks 'halfway through the school year'... No big plans for the weekend or the coming week which suits me just fine really - as per our previous chat I am a bit 'peopled out' 🤣 Take care all x
  19. Thanks for your kind thoughts x
  20. Notebooks are a must - I will be most disappointed in you if you do not buy them 🤣
  21. Oh me too - sometimes I think I would like a 'huge fuss' 🤣 and have chosen my music 'Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me' the Elton John and George Michael version and 'Days' the Kirsty MacColl version...but at other times I think - no 'click and collect' would be best 🤣 It was just the Funeral Director's timing that I didn't like!
  22. Get the custard ready - I am on my way young Froglet! Hope you soon feel better - but whilst I am with you I really need somewhere to hide too - perhaps we could hide together... Now...let me think - shall I do the ironing or should I look up emmasflowergarden! 🤣
  23. Good morning - 'tis Friday zigzag - another lovely photo It has been another week of getting things in place for my lovely MIL's funeral which is to be held next Thursday, think we are 'done' - I am sighing a huge sigh of relief - but reminding myself not to be too pleased with myself just yet - time for that after the service and reception if all has gone well... When the Funeral Director visited us on Wednesday, after completing mounds of arrangements/paperwork - she said "and what about you two, would you like to take out plans for yourselves"? Flippin' heck - chose your moment - I just replied, very quietly "no not right now thank you". Anyway, enough already... Hope the weekend is kind to all x
  24. Isn't it awful - rain, rain and a bit more rain 🤦‍♀️ driving is as dodgy as anything, we have so many potholes that are less obvious when filled with water...
  25. Yes, yes, yes - don't delay we are depending on you louby! 👍
