Good morning 'tis Friday Hope young froglet and louby are feeling better? Funny old week here: Got off to a bad start with a 'phone call from daughter-in-law to tell me that our eldest granddaughter was in hospital - severe kidney infection...given abs intravenously and a CT scan to check for kidney stones (no stones found) - she is home now with more abs and is (touch wood) recovering well. I cancelled my Covid jab which was booked for Tuesday - I had a really sore throat and was a bit sniffly - I wouldn't have a jab in those circumstances - can re-book for next week. Mr S has been to the eye hospital - surgery will be performed sometime soon - for now he has tape holding his lower eyelid down (a bit)... The (bloody) shed is nearly finished - youngest son will be here tomorrow to varnish the floor. Singing group was excellent this week - I had my choice of songs - whoop! Knitting group was pretty disastrous - all got a bit contentious over nothing at all really - no way will I continue to run this if people can't be 'nice' - I am not up for that at all... This evening we are out for dinner with two friends - a super fish restaurant - there is some sea bass with my name on it!!! Sunday will find whole family - sons, DILs, grandchildren out for Sunday lunch - really looking forward to that. We have new dates for house - exchange 19th, complete 29th - will it really happen - who knows! Take care all and hoping you have a good weekend x

I'm back! Private Covid jab booked for next Tuesday - phew!

Good morning - 'tis Friday Can't believe that I am saying this - but it would seem that Covid is rife here again - lots of people in our little village have been/are very poorly with it - best I try to source out a private jab, as I did last year...Mr S was given his along with our flu jabs last week. I am wondering now if that was why our local hospital declared a 'Critical Incident' I thought it was flu... I really need to work out how to share a photo on here - I want to show you the Nativity set that I made for my friends son SEN reception class...I have 'orders' for three more, I have said no, never again, took me hours and hours to make! 🤣 but nice that people liked it! Next knitting job is to make poppies for our post-box topper - one of my knitting group has made the most lovely army helmet - we are (hopefully) going with just that and a host of poppies - should look lovely, quite poignant I think. Shed (bloody) shed think our sons will be here this weekend. Such disappointing news for the house sale - we had the exciting news a few weeks back that we would complete 8th October - nope, haven't even exchanged contracts yet...I honestly can't wait for the time that I am not dealing with Estate Agents and Solicitors 🤦‍♀️ Hope everyone is okay and has had a good week Happy weekend all x

Oh Mr zigzag - please get your flu jab (you complete numpty🤣) Our local hospital declared a 'Critical Incident' this week as there were absolutely no empty beds, one of the biggest issues was flu, apparently flu season has come early.

Good morning - 'tis Friday! Busy week here - poor Mr S has had a few medical appointments - including a visit to an optician yesterday afternoon...he has had a sore eye for several weeks and has tried all sorts of drops etc...I finally convinced him that he needed to see someone about it (other than the two pharmacists that he had already tried) - anyway long story short - it was eyelashes on his lower eyelid that were growing 'the wrong way' and scratching his eye - the optician plucked them all out - ouch! Apparently they will just regrow and he has/will be referred to an eye hospital for some sort of procedure - ouch again! We both have flu jabs tomorrow - not sure if he will also get a Covid one - oh the joys of getting old! Shedgate saga continues - much more building still to be done - youngest son is coming tomorrow morning (eldest son is going axe-throwing as you do🤣) Someone has donated another £10.00 to the Macmillan fund and we still have the payments made through the QR code to be added to our final total - we are all feeling very pleased with ourselves! I am back again! Our final total ... drumroll ... £1752.70 can you believe that - I have to note that we already had £600 in hand, this had been raised by one of my dear friends who has been selling her diamond art cards throughout the year... To say that I am thrilled would be an understatement - honestly people are so very generous 🧡

Phew - I am back - highly 'cream crackered'! 🤣 Haven't got a total yet but everything crossed that we have done well again... Shed (bloody) shed is half built and apparently our sons will be here again on Sunday. Young froglet I used to love 'doing' autumn with my pre-schoolers - lots of conker and leaf collecting amongst other things - happy days I am baby-sitting tomorrow evening, but nothing else planned for the weekend Zigzag - I am loving this weather too - aren't we lucky. Sounds perfect to me! The 'workforce' have now gone - youngest son always plays golf on a Saturday afternoon so guess that's why... Round two tomorrow - can't wait 🤦‍♀️🤣 Oh and Mr S is currently working through the 'plans' and is armed with a pen - not sure what that is all about and won't be asking!!!

I'm think that Mr zigzag might have won in the (bloody) shed stakes! Building has commenced here, only it hasn't because when they unwrapped one of the two huge plastic wrapped piles of timber they discovered that the 'bits' they need first are at the bottom of the pile 🤦‍♀️so currently they are moving the whole lot to get to the bits they need 🤣 Son: shall I put the windows up in the workshop? Mr S: well, I don't know if you will find room in there I am very much leaving them to it!

🤣🤣🤣 Mr S did say "well, perhaps you would like a little area in the new (bloody) shed" - yeah right!

Goodness me - crossed posts with you - some people are just vile - but good for you for handing in your notice - it's great, i think, when you reach that stage in your life when you think 'no, I don't need this' x

Good morning - 'tis Friday Beaten today by zizag and louby! Right - where were we...ah I know Young froglet I envy you your canalside walks I would love that! Zigzag thanks for updating about your lovely mum - I have everything crossed for her that things really improve soon - 'scuse me he can't possibly be 1 already he was only born yesterday! It has all been happening here this week! Not sure if I have ever shared that Mr S is an addict........his addiction is sheds (although I usually refer to them as bloody sheds!) - he is so funny, does he really think that after 50+ years of marriage that I can't see straight through him! He has been busily hinting that he 'needs' a new shed for the past two months, he imagines that I have no idea what's coming next, well he can think again!!! The current shed situation - he has: The 'little shed' this is where he stores his (not one but two) ride on mowers. The Workshop - huge and houses much woodworking machinery The Potting shed which does what it says on the tin His 'Music Studio' which has his (ridiculous) guitar collection, keyboard and mixer desk. He started his 'hinting' by saying "I'm a bit worried about my guitars, it's getting damp in the 'studio" - oh really, well get a dehumidifier and some heat in there!!! Then it was "the little shed, really needs to come down before it falls down, but then I wouldn't have anywhere to store the mowers" - "oh really, well move stuff around in the workshop and make room for them in there"!!! Finally "I've had an idea, but I know you won't agree" - "that is no way to start a conversation, do share your 'big idea' and I'll let you know what I think"!!! Can you see where this is going? Yep, he is getting another (bloody) shed!!! Very much 'aided and abetted' by our sons!!! Sons have 'grubbed out' one of my absolute favourite parts of my garden, we had the hugest ready-mix lorry deliver the concrete for the base on Wednesday and the new (bloody) shed was delivered yesterday - they will be spending some of the weekend here erecting the new (bloody) shed!!! Mr S is unable to do anything but supervise this but he will thoroughly enjoy that!!! Plan is (supposedly) that the guitars etc will come down to the new (bloody) shed - which has now been dubbed 'the posh shed' - he will also have some space for his woodcarving and goodness knows what else...'the Little Shed' will come down and mowers can be stored in the studio shed...watch this space!!! So that's my weekend taken care of - it will be bacon rolls and tea and coffees all round! Hope that you have 'enjoyed' my ramblings! Have a good weekend all x

Good morning - 'tis Friday How is everyone? zigzag - how is your lovely mum getting on? Not sure that I have any scintillating news from here this week! Our vaccinations went without a hitch last Friday - no side-effects at all - phew! Onwards and upwards Have a good weekend all x

louby - we used to have a 'C word' party - complete with a red suited gentleman (!) to give out pressies - parents very kindly made the food - was always a lovely way to end the term - oh and an entertainer - always completely 'stress free'! Obviously you need a 'budget' for pressies and entertainment - not sure if that would work for you...

I should think so too - dreadful behaviour from louby! Mind you I am knitting a Nativity set for my Godson's class - he teaches SEN Reception - so it is sort of on my mind 🤣
