Good morning - 'tis Friday Rain, rain and a bit more rain all week here - but thankfully it's dry today - honestly can't believe we have had the heating on in June. Busy week - big announcement - drumroll..........we have sold my dear MIL's house - can't believe it, so quickly, obviously know that things could go pear-shaped yet but how amazing, full asking price, not worried that we have undersold as there were a couple of below asking price offers too. A home that we both loved, but for now just brings us sadness so good to see it go and hope that another family can find happiness there. I am hoping for a quiet weekend - no plans at all - so will just take it as it comes Hope everyone is okay. Happy weekend to all x

I'm so sorry Mousie that is just awful I do remember that about a zillion years ago I did get a 'literal' smack in the mouth - that child is now in his early 40's and has been in all sorts of trouble throughout his life, last that I heard he is 'homeless' which actually breaks my heart.

Louby - I always finished with a picnic (with parents responsible for their own children!) - if we were flush we organised a bouncy castle or an entertainer - sadly, towards the end of my time there was never any spare money, but I don't need to tell you that! We presented our leavers with a 'certificate' and all children received a small pressie (usually a book)... When do you plan to retire now then? Young Froglet - so pleased that you got to spend some time with your brother and sister - I wonder if our son's are having such conversations about Mr S and me - hope not quite yet 🤣 Bindweed is the absolute pits - good luck with it. One of my lovely daughters-in-law called round and had a look at my new retaining wall - she said "wow that should last well" - I replied "yes, that should see us out" 🤣 - she was not happy about me saying that but hey ho! 🤣 I do hope our lovely zigzag is okay we haven't heard from her...

Good morning - 'tis Friday A fairly busy week here. Tuesday found us in London for a hospital visit for Mr S - it was absolute chaos up there as the tube drivers were on strike, not that we could take the tube anymore but of course the traffic was just dreadful...the black cab ride back from The Royal Brompton to St Pancras cost us £60.00 not the drivers fault he just couldn't move... Just after we reached the hospital there was a huge thunderstorm with hail like you never saw (!) all of us able-bodied peeps left the waiting room to see what was going on - it was all rather exciting! This weekend we have a party to attend - whoop - it is one of Mr S' cousins who recently got married in Cyprus - they are hosting the party for those that couldn't attend the wedding... Have some 'structural' work going on out in my garden today - a retaining wall (wooden) had well and truly rotted out - it is being replaced with some super smart sleepers - can't wait to see the end result! That's me caught up - how is everyone else getting on? Happy weekend one and all x

Just received text message from South East Water - we will be turned off again tonight 🤦♀️ Mr S said "what is this summer going to be like if this is going on now" 'tis all over Kent and Sussex what a pain...

Thanks young Froglet, we have such an odd situation - tankers are working 24/7 pumping water directly into mains - still have have water bottle station too - but yes we do have water - whoop! Oh and it would seem it is all our own fault for expecting to use water when it is hot - South East Water have told us off! 🤣

Good morning - 'tis Friday Woah - incredibly busy week here - how did I ever find time to work?! 🤣 A week full of Estate Agents, Solicitors, Photographers and (much nicer) youngest grandchildren...on the EA, Solicitors bit I have been thinking - 'Mr S is very, very lucky to have his very own PA' 🤣 Today - I am off doing some more 'serious' plant buying and then need to be back here to take delivery of granddog, she will be with us until Monday, she is no trouble and I am looking forward to having her 🐶 Are we all ready for a heatwave? Have a good BH weekend all x

Good morning - 'tis Friday Lovely to see the sun this morning - horrible weather here most of the week... We are just off to meet yet another Estate Agent - this will be number 3 - one for Probate valuation and two for Sales appraisal... Not sure what we are doing this weekend Have a good one! x

Hello again I am collecting my two youngest grandchildren from school too - a panicked text from DIL she is not going to be back in time to pick them up - no problem will be lovely to have them! In other news - have set up two Estate Agent appointments for next week - go me! 🤣

Good morning - 'tis Friday The three generation fishing trip was a great success - youngest grandson is well and truly hooked (see what I did there!) House Clearance at MIL's house is complete phew! Next step is Estate Agent valuations (two maybe three not sure) This evening we are off to a surprise 70th birthday meal - one of Mr S's many cousins - will be good to see everyone and it not be at a funeral far too much of that has happened recently. Weekend - not sure what we are up to will take it as it comes... Happy weekend all x

Good morning - as zigzag said - 'tis Friday! Busy week here - 'operation sort out' at my dear late MIL's house is almost complete - we have done all that we can manage and now a house clearance company are booked for next Thursday/Friday they are eye wateringly expensive but there you go, it is what it is - one bonus is that they clean the house when they have finished - which saves me the job! Operation sort out here - hmmm - what can I say - next week possibly/maybe 🤦♀️🤣 Today will find me out in the garden - very much my happy place. Nothing much planned for Saturday/Sunday - will just take it as it comes... On Monday - Mr S, eldest son and youngest grandson are off fishing - grandson's request - wonder how he will last before getting bored! Sure he will love the ducks, geese and moorhens on the lake if nothing else. Wishing you all a great weekend full of things and people that you enjoy x

Good morning - 'tis Friday Wonder how our dear zigzag is getting on with her Cruise - hope she is having the best time! I have two youngest grandchildren with me for the day - currently they are playing 'Looney Tunes' hopscotch (don't ask) on my patio! Happy days! Can't believe that the 'summer terms' are coming up - will I ever stop thinking 'terms' - don't think so! No big plans for the weekend - although we really must carry on with 'Operation sort out' - think I said that last Friday and it didn't happen 🤦♀️ Have a lovely weekend all x

Good morning - 'tis Friday How is everyone? Dear zigzag - happy, happy cruising - hope that you have a wonderful time x Another very busy week - holiday granddog was picked up late Tuesday always feels so strange when she has gone.. looked after two youngest grandchildren on Wednesday, not that they need a lot of 'looking after' now, yesterday was knitting group which was lovely I really enjoy that couple of hours of female company...and then here we are it's Friday again! Our solicitor has been driving me mad - so many mistakes in her figures for probate - I assume she is charging her £200.00 per hour for every time that I have had to 'correct' her 🤦♀️ there is no excuse really - I have been looking after MIL's finances for the past 10 years and I presented everything to the solicitor beautifully (if I do say so myself🤣) - think we have had a breakthrough this week - hope so or there is a danger that I might self-combust! We haven't made any progress at all with operation 'sort-out' this week - must, must just get on with it - perhaps we should make that our plan for this weekend... Super weather - particularly Wednesday and yesterday - whoop! Hope the weekend is kind to all x

Good morning - 'tis Friday Another week has flown by... We are busy sorting dear MIL's house - that's a pretty depressing job but every now and then there is a really happy find which lightens the load - we are taking the day off today and will get back to it tomorrow - eventually we will get a house clearance company in but we need to remove all of the personal 'stuff' first...it has brought into the focus the need for me to sort my own house properly 🤦♀️ We have our dear little granddog with us - she arrived yesterday and will stay until Tuesday - she is a lovely distraction. Hoping everyone is okay and that the Easter weekend is full of things that are precious to each of you xxx
