  1. Oooh - his iPad is involved now 🤣🤣🤣
  2. Sounds perfect to me! The 'workforce' have now gone - youngest son always plays golf on a Saturday afternoon so guess that's why... Round two tomorrow - can't wait 🤦‍♀️🤣 Oh and Mr S is currently working through the 'plans' and is armed with a pen - not sure what that is all about and won't be asking!!!
  3. I'm think that Mr zigzag might have won in the (bloody) shed stakes! Building has commenced here, only it hasn't because when they unwrapped one of the two huge plastic wrapped piles of timber they discovered that the 'bits' they need first are at the bottom of the pile 🤦‍♀️so currently they are moving the whole lot to get to the bits they need 🤣 Son: shall I put the windows up in the workshop? Mr S: well, I don't know if you will find room in there I am very much leaving them to it!
  4. 🤣🤣🤣 Mr S did say "well, perhaps you would like a little area in the new (bloody) shed" - yeah right!
  5. Goodness me - crossed posts with you - some people are just vile - but good for you for handing in your notice - it's great, i think, when you reach that stage in your life when you think 'no, I don't need this' x
  6. Good morning - 'tis Friday Beaten today by zizag and louby! Right - where were we...ah I know Young froglet I envy you your canalside walks I would love that! Zigzag thanks for updating about your lovely mum - I have everything crossed for her that things really improve soon - 'scuse me he can't possibly be 1 already he was only born yesterday! It has all been happening here this week! Not sure if I have ever shared that Mr S is an addict........his addiction is sheds (although I usually refer to them as bloody sheds!) - he is so funny, does he really think that after 50+ years of marriage that I can't see straight through him! He has been busily hinting that he 'needs' a new shed for the past two months, he imagines that I have no idea what's coming next, well he can think again!!! The current shed situation - he has: The 'little shed' this is where he stores his (not one but two) ride on mowers. The Workshop - huge and houses much woodworking machinery The Potting shed which does what it says on the tin His 'Music Studio' which has his (ridiculous) guitar collection, keyboard and mixer desk. He started his 'hinting' by saying "I'm a bit worried about my guitars, it's getting damp in the 'studio" - oh really, well get a dehumidifier and some heat in there!!! Then it was "the little shed, really needs to come down before it falls down, but then I wouldn't have anywhere to store the mowers" - "oh really, well move stuff around in the workshop and make room for them in there"!!! Finally "I've had an idea, but I know you won't agree" - "that is no way to start a conversation, do share your 'big idea' and I'll let you know what I think"!!! Can you see where this is going? Yep, he is getting another (bloody) shed!!! Very much 'aided and abetted' by our sons!!! Sons have 'grubbed out' one of my absolute favourite parts of my garden, we had the hugest ready-mix lorry deliver the concrete for the base on Wednesday and the new (bloody) shed was delivered yesterday - they will be spending some of the weekend here erecting the new (bloody) shed!!! Mr S is unable to do anything but supervise this but he will thoroughly enjoy that!!! Plan is (supposedly) that the guitars etc will come down to the new (bloody) shed - which has now been dubbed 'the posh shed' - he will also have some space for his woodcarving and goodness knows what else...'the Little Shed' will come down and mowers can be stored in the studio shed...watch this space!!! So that's my weekend taken care of - it will be bacon rolls and tea and coffees all round! Hope that you have 'enjoyed' my ramblings! Have a good weekend all x
  7. Good morning - 'tis Friday How is everyone? zigzag - how is your lovely mum getting on? Not sure that I have any scintillating news from here this week! Our vaccinations went without a hitch last Friday - no side-effects at all - phew! Onwards and upwards Have a good weekend all x
  8. louby - we used to have a 'C word' party - complete with a red suited gentleman (!) to give out pressies - parents very kindly made the food - was always a lovely way to end the term - oh and an entertainer - always completely 'stress free'! Obviously you need a 'budget' for pressies and entertainment - not sure if that would work for you...
  9. I should think so too - dreadful behaviour from louby! Mind you I am knitting a Nativity set for my Godson's class - he teaches SEN Reception - so it is sort of on my mind 🤣
  10. Sue...Sue...Sue - louby is using that C word again!
  11. Good morning - 'tis Friday (again) How is everyone? Fairly busy day here today - Mr S is playing taxi driver for one of our daughters-in-law, I have a hair appointment booked for 12 and then later we have the delight of visiting our surgery for RSV vaccines...I understand why Mr S is getting one ahead of time but not quite sure I have been offered one - to protect him perhaps, who knows, I will just go along with it... Youngest granddaughter started secondary school yesterday (no idea how that is even possible) she had a great day - phew! Lovely to see the grass greening up nicely amazed at how quickly that has happened really. Hoping to spend a lot of time out in the garden this weekend... Hope the weekend is kind to all x
  12. I will keep everything crossed for you both x
  13. Yep, my swimming/drowning could be considered artistic too 🤣 Have a lovely time with your sister and mum and dad I have read just one Dear Mrs Bird book - I think that was on your recommendation - I loved it, will look out for others... I am currently reading 'The Measure' by Nikki Erlick -extremely thought-provoking
  14. Ah louby do you remember that I used to send my TDL to you! So pleased to hear that you are looking forward to going back. Yep, 'artistic swimming is indeed synchronised swimming - she will be in a 'squad' so not solo...
  15. Good morning - 'tis Friday Goodness another week has just flown by - can't believe that the children are back at school next week... Hope those that are still working have completed their TDLs and have got their work bags packed 🙃 How sad is the loss of Dolly Parton this week - wonderful lady who spread love and light in a world that seems so full of hatred... I need to get my hearing checked - here is a conversation that I had with my DIL yesterday: DIL: did we tell you that ***** was having a trial for 'autistic swimming' she has been accepted Me: er, no, what do you mean, what is 'autistic swimming'? DIL: Artistic not autistic 🤣🤣🤣 Hope the (long) weekend is kind to all x
  16. S'cuse me you have - you had a break and why not! x
  17. Good morning - 'tis Friday Not sure that I have any news really...I am enjoying the dip in temperature - I am not 'built' for 30+ degree heat! Hope that the weekend is kind to all x
  18. Sending every good wish to her and to you xxx
  19. How is your mum doing zigzag?
  20. Thanks louby - yep we are back on (until the next time!) poor people in Cranbrook and Benenden are on their 5th or 6th day now without water...
  21. Oh no dear zigzag - your absolutely wonderful mum, I'm so sorry - sending lots of love and hoping for a good recovery for her xxx
  22. Aha - i know why now - my dear friend who lives at the 'top' of the village rang and said "did you know they are using tankers again to fill the system" - brilliant!
  23. <whispers very quietly> we are back on - very low pressure, but I can easily live with that. Will it last - who knows, hope so!
  24. Guess what...............no water! You couldn't make it up - oh well could be worse - bottled water station set up at Village Hall - this is sort of good news, but does make me slightly concerned that we could be in for a long haul (again)
  25. Young Froglet - what a lovely time you have had - I am so pleased for you! Brilliant that your niece has picked up how to crochet - she couldn't have a better mentor! Huge congrats to your nephew. Your afternoon tea sounds wonderful.
