free prevent duty training

Hi everyone,

I thought I would share this with you. It is a free on-line course on the Prevent Duty, recommended to us by our Early Years Improvement Officer.

It can be done in addition to the other courses that you may have accessed already and may be useful for committee members to do too. It takes 45 minutes and can be found on -

elearning.prevent.homeoffice.gov.uk you need to type in your region and type of setting, ie a school or early years. Hope you find it useful.

I have just completed the FGM one on the same site. Free, but it did take about 1.5 hours total.

This is great and actually very good.. better than the other prevent duty training staff have completed already. This will be great to keep staff fresh in this knowledge and it really does explain it very well.

Yes you get certificates, not sure about iPads,- but it doesn't like yahoo or sky emails? :blink: I'm thinking yahoo do to the big hacking a little while ago- but not liking sky???

Well I do have dodgy signal and quite often "!drop out" of on line, but didn't have any problems - may be it was the time I did it - quite late - didn't think it would go on for soooo long! But given the seriousness of the subject matterl I can forgive that.

Is it because they are trying to 'skip' the other 'services' ? So for example when it says about your role, and you choose education- complete that section then try to go to the next section without doing the other roles- ie medical ?

 

Difficult to explain but when I tried to 'skip through' the non relevant ones it would let me.

maybe, i might go through and complete it myself, the rest of us have done the nclt one, I went a little way into it ...the 'mood' part was interesting and then when choosing a picture and it saying ' umm that's an interesting choice' :-/
