Sounds like you have been busy Sunnyday. A local lady runs wreath making workshops in our village each year. I’m always tempted to book but think I would be laughed out of the room! I’m the sort of person who can’t even make a simple bunch of flowers look good in a vase! It’s become a family joke actually. just the usual week here, nothing exciting. My on,y excitement is when I manage to walk the dog and not get rained on! Which is few and far between at the moment. Have booked a short break away for the week after next. Only to Devon so really not far. But my husband and I just need to get away and have a relaxed break for a few days. The last six months have been quite challenging and full of changes which I haven’t really fully processed yet. It will be great to have some days when we can just please ourselves and not have to think about anyone else. Just hope the weather is kind so we can do some walking and visit lots of nice places for meals! No plans for the weekend, tomorrows weather looks horrendous! No doubt my lot will be watching the football. Have a lovely weekend all.

Louby I never ever thought I could walk away and not miss it. The last 19 years I lived and breathed everything pre-school 24/7. But once the decision was actually made it has been the easiest thing ever. I don’t miss it at all and the relief is immense. I have had to go to school a couple of times to help with admin stuff but couldn’t wait to get out of there. I really don’t regret my de sci on for one minute.

Happy Friday all. Nothing exciting this week just the lovely slow unstressed pace of my new life! Could have done with better weather, it’s been atrocious here this week and getting used to the dark evenings is so very difficult. Bit annoyed as my son has been on the Isle of Wight for the last three weeks on a course learning how to be a deck hand on the mega yachts. Booked on the train to come home on Monday, they then announce a strike for next week so we book a coach home, now they have cancelled the blooming train strike! It’s so infuriating and he is now £75 down 😡

No one ever ventures this far out of our village, so we are never bothered!

All went well, a few tears were shed but it was such a beautiful day so we just sat up there and talked, it was so calm and peaceful. And a stunning view a good place to be laid to rest. We have also put a little simple plaque on the wall.

All good down here. Busy scrubbing and still loving the lack of school stress! Having been paying attention to Liz Truss really, I can’t stand the women. So haven’t heard about the ratios or funding changes. But paying funding to parents seems like a recipe for disaster in my opinion! But I don’t actually care any more! Off to scatter Dads ashes today. We have been putting it off and making lots of excuses but today is the day. It’s a beautiful and calm sunny day, perfect for scattering off the cliff top that he chose. Hope everyone has a restful weekend.

Quite a lot of Covid in our village and surrounding area! My Mum had her Covid booster last week thank goodness and had no side effects at all. Had her flu jab at lunchtime and had a sore arm already! Apparently this years flu jab has been very painful for most people! The weather here today is awful, just said we are going to have to start putting the dehumidifier on in our cottage soon!😢. Not even wanting to think about the C word this year but saying that did buy a couple of presents for my son whilst online last night! Have had all my brothers family visiting this week from Kent, which has been lovely, but the time has flown way too quickly. Have a lovely weekend all.

Louby Lou I have to tell you that I feel like a different person now I have left. I didn’t realise quite how stressed I was ALL of the time until I got out. I still can’t believe that I feel so happy that I have left, never in a million years did I think I would feel like this. I had to pop in today to walk the new manager through her first wages sheet and funding task and I couldn’t wait to get out again! Even seeing the children and the changes I didn’t feel one emotional tug at all.

Definitely a day to be super proud to be British. What a moving and totally unforgettable day. A beautiful and fitting send off for the queen. May she now spend eternity in the arms of her beloved Prince Phillip.

Charles and Anne must be emotionally and physically exhausted and my heart goes out to them. To do what they are doing with such dignity is truly amazing. I thought todays events were very moving and beautiful. I think Charles has to go to Ireland on Friday and then I hope the family get some time together to grieve like a normal family. Im finding myself so emotional and raw with this and have shed tears for the queen when I still can’t for my Dad which I don’t understand. I keep thinking how emotional he would have been with all this and how he would have been so proud of how the queen is being respected and all the pageantry. He loved the queen so much and was so honoured to parade past her once at the Cenotaph with his Korean War regiment.

They will probably continue to ripen through September I would imagine (as long as we get some more sun!)

I’ve had an annoying cough for the last 3.5 weeks finally realised maybe it was a bit more than a cough so contacted the doctor and have got antibiotics for a chest infection and drops for a mouth and throat bacterial infection! Had to have a very uncomfortable conversation with a doctor about why I didn’t want to deal with him. This doctor was the reason my Dad had a catastrophic bleed and nearly died and then had the last two years of his life completely ruined. He prescribed super strong pain killers to my Dad who should never have been given these as he was also on a blood thinning tablet and the pain killers should never be prescribed without stomach lining tablets which he was not given. As soon as I said my Dads name he said “yes that should never have happened, I apologise” He had two years to apologise to my poor Dad and he never did! I found it a very frustrating and upsetting conversation. We are off to see the fisherman’s friends musical at the theatre tomorrow, so really looking forward to that. Hopefully the weather won’t be too terrible for travelling. Looking forward to NOT returning to school next week and finally handing over the monitoring of the email account etc!
