I sorted my mother in laws when she died as the boys couldn’t face it. Amazing how much was kept and fascinating to go through the decades of cuttings from the paper and all the decades worth of funeral orders of service! Keep looking for the glimmers that make you smile. I have everyone coming for afternoon tea tomorrow and then on Sunday we are taking mum and her friend out for dinner, so a nice chilled weekend before next weeks chaos begins! Trying to fit all my domestic cleans in and holiday changeovers from Easter and getting my place ship shape as brother coming to stay when we go away! I cannot wait to step on that ship and sail away next weekend! Have a terrific weekend all.

Hi all, lots of very mixed weather down here this week! From sitting in a t shirt on the beach to getting drenched within an hour of each other! I’ve been poorly, I think I’ve had Covid, really knocked me down and am taking a long time to shake it off. Only two weeks left until our cruise, so need it to go completely by then. I have my Grandson tomorrow, so looking forward to that, although may be challenging as he is refusing to take anything but the breast at the moment😬 Could be a long day! Also, what on earth has happened to weaning these days? It’s so very very different from when my two were babies! Am having to reeducate myself and zip my mouth!

Love that answer Froglet! Making a posey sounds like a lovely activity, make sure you share a photo. We also had high winds last night, luckily the fence has still not been replaced since storm Goretti! Although concrete fence posts and gravel boards were delivered today so hopefully when the weather drys up we can make a start. We are at my oldest sons for dinner on Sunday with my DILs family and my mum, will be nice not to be the one cooking roast for once! Will miss my baby boy though but London is too far to travel from for a day. Have a happy weekend all.

A couple of days where it’s been miserable but the rest has been dry and even seen a bright light in the sky for some days! Caught a very quick (blink and you miss it) glimpse of Prince William yesterday as I was driving the past the fire station he was visiting. Hoping for nice weather tomorrow so I can get out and clean my greenhouse. 37 days until our cruise, not that I’m counting or anything! Have a lovely weekend all.

Sunnyday Quinsy is horrible. Both myself and my son have had it. Mine got treated with a months worth of antibiotics, but it really was a horrid thing to have, especially as it was making me vomit as well. My throat is now scared from it and I quite regularly get very sore patches In my throat. Luckily they go as quickly as they come. My son ended up in A&E on a drip when he had it. Hope she soon recovers. Enjoy your lunch on Sunday, good to hear that your sister is much better. Louby Lou, this was a kit I bought in a mad moment. But I’m really more Autistic than artistic! So I don’t know who I was kidding! I’m not talented at all in handicrafts and it just looked a mess! Your offer is incredibly kind though, thank you. But I think I’ll just offload this somewhere! No plans here for the weekend except having everyone down for Sunday dinner. I do so love cooking roast for all the family. Hoping to see some sunshine but who knows! Have a lovely weekend all.

Could anyone of you Friday friends use some felting equipment? There are two felting mats, some bags of felt, felting needles etc. Happy to pop it in the In post locker and would only cost £2.59 postage.

Glad everyone has had a happy week. We’ve had nothing but biblical rain here it’s just horrendous. Our roads are literally falling apart with huge gaping pot holes and you risk your car every time you go out! (I know that’s not just down here and it’s a nation wide problem) I have a days daycare of my grandson on Monday so looking forward to that. Glad all went well Sunnyday. Froglet, chocolate and cherry scones sound delicious, do you have a recipe please? Lovely to have a dry day here yesterday (until the evening when a mini storm hit) Today is also meant to be nice so hoping to get a few jobs done in the garden. Have a lovely weekend all.

Sunnyday it does seem like bad timing to be asking that question! Talk about the hard sell! I honestly like the idea of the pure cremation idea where there’s no service or fuss but the family could then do something when they scatter ashes. I don’t want to be centre of attention in life let alone death! I don’t know if this is just my weird sense of humour that it appeals to (if it offends anyone I’m sorry) but when my Dads ashes were returned to us, the pot was In a bag for life!! Also found out that this was the case for another family member in Devon so it’s not just a Cornish thing! As I say this actually made me laugh! Hope all goes well on Thursday Sunnyday. It’s quite a responsibility and a relief when it’s over and gone well.

Morning all. It’s dodgy driving with the state of the roads, more pot hole than road in some places. Also dodgy walking the dogs, so much mud and surface water everywhere you go. We have had some lovely dry spells this week though with some sunshine at times. This photo was taken on my dog walk yesterday and I sent it to mum, who is up in Kent at the moment in the rain. Within an hour of the photo it had poured down and I was soaking! (That’s Karma for gloating)

Isn’t it funny that we all seem to be similar in that respect! Think we will have to get those balaclavas embroidered with a club logo. Maybe the not peopley people club!

Louby Lou, I am the least social person going. Honestly I avoid social events like the plague! Put me in a crowd or somewhere having to make small talk and I panic! As Sunnyday said, lockdown was right up my street. The great thing about cruising is you can do as much or as little of something as you want. You just pick and choose and please yourself.

We are doing a two week Mediterranean cruise. Going to Spain france and Italy. Going in April. We cruised the Norwegian fjords before and couldn’t make up our minds if we liked this kind of holiday or not. Husband wasn’t feeling 100% so that didn’t help. Anyway we decided to give it another go. So watch this space….

Saw the first snowdrops of the year this week and they did make me smile on a rainy and windy day! Just had a visit from my son and Grandson (what a special thing that is to watch your baby become a Dad and see that love develop) He is nearly five months now! Just where does the time go. Going through a slightly grumpy stage at the moment but luckily Nana has the back of getting smiles and then getting him to sleep. Am on countdown now for our cruise in April oh to see some sunshine (hopefully) Hope everyone has a lovely weekend.

Dearest Sunnyday, I’m so very sorry to hear this and send you and Mr S my condolences. I’m so glad you were both with her when she passed. It’s a very hard thing to do but am sure it was a comfort to her and will be to you both in the days to come. Much love. Xx

Froglet and Louby, do you think it’s a women thing or an age thing or both? I’ve always been a worrier even when I was younger but I can’t recall that I used to overthink everything like this. My worst time for it is from 5am every morning!

Oh Sunnyday am sorry to hear that. Has she hurt herself badly? Falling is such a worry at that age isn’t it. I send my best wishes. Another reminder to self to start doing some kind of strength training! Starting a weekly clean today for a new client. Was meant to be last week but after the storm that was not possible. So today’s the day. Why do I always get nervous going to a new job, it’s so daft. She Is my childhood best friends Mum as well so she has seen me grow up since I was 8! The New Year’s resolution to not overthink or get anxious about silly things has totally gone out the window (and did by the 1st Jan if I’m honest) Blooming hormones have SO much to answer for. Our water came back on Saturday just before they delivered bottles! Then it’s been a bit intermittent as they get all the repairs sorted. But just had an automated message to say they are closing the bottled water collection points, so guess it’s all sorted now. I was prepared for the power cut but not for the water disruption! It’s the last thing you think of in a storm. But very grateful to everyone who has worked so hard to get it sorted. My son’s power has only just been restored in the last hour. So that’s such a long time to be off.

Wowsers! That was some weekend. Power went off at 6:30 on Thursday evening and has just been turned on at 7:30 on Sunday evening. But we also have no water since Saturday! Which is hideous. Thankfully all the family are safe and so are our houses. We have lost all our fence and lots of ceramic pots and mum lost her greenhouse but nothing else luckily. Some people had their windows blown in. A massive fir tree came down at the top of the village which was quite a sight, luckily no one hurt. It was a very frightening experience, the noise was awful, except the eye of the storm which was eerily quiet and still. Not an experience I want to repeat. Hope everyone else is safe and well.
