Delegation

Hi everyone,

I am looking for some advice again from you knowledgeable folk.

As setting manager I am looking to delegate more to my preschool deputy and was wondering what you all delegate?

We are working on moderating observations and assessments together, which is brilliant, but what else do you delegate?

Some advice would be great.

Thank you

depends on their strengths, mine used to do all the planning and was our Senco.,

I am sure she also did a lot of other things as well, we worked well togehter doing a lot of things.. she was good support ,but then all the staff team were, I was lucky to have staff who were motivated, and wanted to help where they could, all had an additional role of some sort.

Delegation, what is this that you speak of?? Not a great deal of delegation in my setting i'm afraid! I am trying, but find it really difficult, think I too am a bit of a control freak/perfectionist or maybe I just like things done properly!!! :D

That's me too - my deputy has taken on the SENCO role - but that's it - no other 'delegation' in my setting!

I try (really I do) or perhaps I am just a rather trying control freak - I do have a deputy SENCO and DSL and I am going to send them on supervision and appraisal training as this is something I think I could delegate quite easily!
