larnielass
My to do list is not going to plan. I think someone keeps breaking in at night and adding something to it. Sunnyday--- just thinking about the word you use....... could it be "slip"????

sunnyday
Very funny ladies! Not much progress here today - pottered about in the garden just doing some gentle dead heading........walked the 'holiday dog'......watched two episodes of Escape to the Country and one of Location, Location, Location........read for a bit......few housework tasks and that's about it - nothing ticked off the old TDL today.......
Froglet
Sunnyday - I called in to see my lovely dad this afternoon - we were talking about Kent and I told him what you'd said - he knew exactly which S word you were going for!
Froglet
I spent the morning in school so the TDL is a bit shorter. Absolutely beautiful day so did nothing more than chat to my dad and wander round the garden with him!

Froglet
I am down to 89 things on my list - it was 112! Pity that the things left on the school work part all require thinking about...
Mouseketeer
Wouldn't it be nice to just have a summer break where it was only the 'need doing every holiday' type things to worry about ie registers, new intake prep, fees, bit of cleaning etc...but nothing that needed to much brain work like new inspection handbooks, new this, new that to try and implement and get your head around so you can then get it into other staff and committee heads before going back ...just in case ofsted turn up and then work into policies when you had no intention of reviewing policies over the summer ...don't know about every one else but finding it very hard to focus at the moment, I also have a 1:1 staffing issue to sort before going back which only came up day before finishing and is not helping at all and has totally overtaken everything else ....but on the plus side Froglet my TDL doesn't have 89 things still to do...not that I've actually counted them

Updated from last year's master list - creating it was last year's procrastination strategy! eating and sleeping seem to be this year's!
Mouseketeer
maybe i should add 'put TDL on a spreadsheet'
Froglet
maybe i should add 'put TDL on a spreadsheet' Absolutely! Provides endless possibilities for categorising, prioritsing, re-ordering and avoiding the whole TDL altogether!
Mouseketeer
Absolutely! Provides endless possibilities for categorising, prioritsing, re-ordering and avoiding the whole TDL altogether! I like the sound of that...though I'm making quite a good job of avoiding it already, well not avoiding really just not making much headway
blondie
well -continue to work my way through the to do list - I have had a quick look at policies but am unsure how to add "prevent" policy to this and where - has anyone done this that could show me what they did please? sunnyday
Okay - hands up - who is it that keeps adding things to my to do list  Feels like one step forward, three steps back.........
Froglet
Know exactly what you mean Sunnyday. Although I'm down to 78 things I'm stalling as I've done most of the quick or routine jobs and now have to do the planning which needs thinking about and I would really like to make a start on writing the Harvest service. It's not until the first Friday in October but I know that the first few weeks back I will be shattered in the evenings, worrying about getting the baseline done and I need to give the other classes a bit of time to sort out what they do from my outline. Still... Bake Off starts tonight!
louby loo
Still... Bake Off starts tonight! ohh.. I luffs Bake Off :1b :1b :1b Preferred it when it was on BBC2 but I can take it on 1 Well, I checked in on here before thinking about a few TDL jobs, but now think I might just do a bit of 'bake-off' research now instead.
sunnyday
Can't wait for Bake Off - think one of us should start another thread so that we discuss early favourites etc. :1b Right .........back to the old TDL now - I'm going to give it another hour today and then settle down to some reading I think! :1b the housework will do itself I'm sure
sunnyday
That's it - no more TDL until Monday for me - much better things to be doing for the next few days!
lsp
Not very productive day!! Can't get motivated to tackle list so been browsing internet shopping, putting in basket, then deleting - very cost effective!!! Also dipping into Forum with random comments. Note to self 'Do not log onto eyfs forum tomorrow!'
Froglet
I (with my mum and dad's help) spent the morning in school and have sorted my shed! We threw out a shed's worth and put back a shed's worth! Things have been disinfected, scrubbed and tidied and you can now walk from one end to the other! It's fab. I'm now resting on the sofa after what was an essential long, hot shower!

Froglet
Well done that mum and dad! You are a lucky girl young froglet, I'm sure they deserve a walnut cake! I already made them a picnic with a loaf of my homemade bread and delicious cheese. Just the kind of food they like. The next time I make a cake it will go their way (Dad doesn't like nuts or they would get walnut cake)!

Froglet
The TDL is not progressing! I can't make myself sit down and get on with it. Don't know what's been wrong with me today but I've felt so achey and just kept falling asleep and nothing much has been done! Have just about convinced myself to give up, have a bath and go to bed! Hoping tomorrow will be more productive!
Panders
Sounds like that's the best thing to do Froglet. Your body's way of saying time to rest now. TDL can wait.
