TORO Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 hello all ofsted came in yesterday, a lovely woman we have been longggg overdue over a year now going 2. She said it was a brought forward inspection due to to complaints, even though we are overdue phew!!. The inspection went very well and the allegations were not founded, terrible allegations that we were hitting a child, i cried when she told me so hurtful, but she calmed me down and praised the staff and nursery. WHY do folks make such allegations we have CCTV all over the nursery, of all allegations to make. l am so paranoid now and can't relax even though it was a good inspections. 4 complaints in the space of a year, and three of those were made within months  Quote
Rea Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Some people make me so mad! What do you think goes through their heads when they lift the phone to Ofsted, do they really think through what they're about to do? So glad you've come through the other side. Nearly the end of term :1b :1b 3 Quote
Stargrower Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 I wish people knew, when they made an unfounded complaint, the stress and misery it causes. Well done for surviving the inspection and complaints - it sounds like you've had more than your fair share! :1b 1 Quote
sunnyday Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Well done TORO - there are some very strange people about - I would have wept too....... 1 Quote
Fredbear Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 So glad for you. I do hope you were supported too. Malicious allegations do nothing but cause misery to those involved and leave a lasting imprint on people's confidence. Let's hope you can move on now. Wishing you well. 1 Quote
Guest Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 well done to you and your staff for getting a brill Ofsted and coping well with such a vile accusation. Whoever it was wanted you in disarray but have failed miserably , good luck to you and your staff x Quote
Greenfinch Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 Didn't want to just read this without also saying well done to all of you. What a horrible experience for you to have to go through. Have a lovely weekend x 1 Quote
eyfs1966 Posted July 9, 2014 Posted July 9, 2014 lets hope the parent is now left with very sour taste in their mouth given that ofsted have totally vindicated your setting. I refer you to the thread marked "Furious!!!" The world has gone mad, and frankly Ofsted need to really sort this out. they have an important job to do and their time seems to be "wasted" investigationg spurious claims made by disgruntled parents. Now I am not saying that Ofsted should not get involved when there is a serious issue, but I can't help but feel that they are still rather over zealous in their compaints driven inspection regieme. 2 Quote
finleysmaid Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Thank you all it means a lot to me Well toro if you've read my thread you'll know the situation i'm in too....I am now hoping that i do not have an inspection raised at the end of a long term because of one deranged **************(far too early for language like that!) Well done for getting through the inspection...over now till after 2016 i suspect! 1 Quote

tish501 Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Some settings in our area 5yrs and over waiting to be Inspected...I think prob due to being pushed back so they can investigate complaints....what do u all think ? Quote
HappyMaz Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 Well done TORO - I know what a complaint like this entails and I admire the fortitude of you and your team for coping with it all and coming out of the other end in one piece. It is a shocking thing to happen - what will you do about this family now? Hope you have a lovely weekend, and can put a bit of space between you and this dreadful event. Quote
zigzag Posted July 10, 2014 Posted July 10, 2014 I am truly shocked at all the post about unfounded and malicious complaints that I am reading lately. What on earth is going on with the parents and who on earth do they think they are? I can only imagine the pain and heartache that it must cause each setting. Can I just ask, are these complaints dealt with by Ofsted with common sense? Toro, well done to you and your team, keep doing what you are doing. 1 Quote
MegaMum Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Well done. I have had two inspections in one year due to malicious unfounded complaints. We came out good in both inspections, but a highly stressful time. I think Ofsted have to sort it out as parents or 'unprofessional employees not doing their job' should not be allowed to lodge a complaint so randomly to trigger an interview plus an inspection. I think after the interview with the Ofsted inspector who comes out about the complaint, if nothing is found, I don't think we should have to then endure a full inspection. Quote
