The 'Potty training academy' have been making a few calls to nurseries to advertise their services (as setting your nursery up as a potty training academy - all for just under £400). Some members in Dorset LA have received cold calls from the company.

I thought you might want a 'heads up' before you got that call so that you were ready with your point of view.

Oh crumbs! Whatever will come our way next! Spoon feeding academy?

Thanks for the heads up!

Wow, I just googled it. £349 plus P+P for lots of stickers, sticker charts, badges, certificates, a potty carrier (carrier bag, anyone?) and a plaque to say you're part of the "academy". Do you think they graduate when they're clean and dry?

Maybe we'll join, then charge parents for potty training their children!

Whatever next!? :o ::1a

i saw a programme recently (too posh to parent?) and a lady who appeared on there did this for very rich parents - she charged £2000 for three day potty training !!!!!!!!!

Don't know whether to dispair over parenting skills or admire the person who recognised a gap in the market????? Ps I hate pull-ups as well!

Crikey! I'm definitely in the wrong job!

I'm in the hating pull-ups camp too. Inexplicably, we had a child last year that used to get sent in with knickers OVER pull-ups!! :huh:

It took several chats with mum to convince her that this was not the best way!!

Hmmm..... it's giving me ideas. I'm thinking 'Manners Academy'. £2000 to teach children to say 'please and thank you' in 3 days. I'm currently providing this service for free at Pre-school!! :o

Ooh I like it. I've just clicker trained my puppy so it would be a breeze. 'Please' click, chocolate button. Job done! ::1a :huh:

In fairness, I did also potty train my son (now 17) with chocolate buttons! A wee in a potty? I gave him a chocolate button. I am a very bad mother ;)

We had ten wees in a potty or two poos and they had their choice of book in the local shop! Just over the Easter holiday. Then it was a week of dry nights for a book

Nothing wrong with that Rebecca. At least you didn't pay someone £2000 to do it for you! :1b

Please, please don't put my clientele off - I can see this being a very lucrative sideline - wouldn't mind shelling out for a few choc buttons :rolleyes: :lol:

I reckon you could run to minstrels for 2k :-)

Ooh no, choking hazard, stick with the tried and tested cheaper option! Or even use the cooking chocolate drops!
