Guest
We have recently had an unpaid volunteer start helping at the pre-school on occasion when she is able and I wondered if she has to complete a PPP as she isn't a member of staff? We've never had anyone be kind enough to volunteer before, so a bit unsure! Thanks
diesel10
She would need to have all the necessary staffing checks. If she's not a parent, I would get her the complete health questionnaire, DBS etc.
lsp
I would do everything that I would do for a paid member of staff (except pay them), including obtaining references.

HappyMaz
Well thank goodness it's not just me!! Nor me - I was hoping someone would come and enlighten me! I think lsp is right - just treat them like an employee: references, DBS, good induction, reading (and signing to say they've read) policies etc. How lovely to have a volunteer! lsp
Oops - just assumed it was a 'staff file / record / induction'?? Apologies if wrong.
Guest
Thanks all, we've got the DBS, induction etc, just occurred to me that we hadn't done a PPP when the census with staff details came through.
lynned55
So could you explain what a PPP is? I just assumed it was personal contact/medical details kept on staff?
