sunnyday Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Now it's quite possible (likely even) that I am the last to discover this wonderful book - but just in case I thought I would recommend - it has the most fantastic rhyming text and unmistakable humour and I love it - more importantly so do the children! 1 Quote
louby loo Posted June 23, 2015 Posted June 23, 2015 Is it by the 'Tadpole' author/ess ? Cant think what it's called by the tadpole turns into a frog and eats the butterfly? Quote

Froglet Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 I'm going to look at it! Love book recommendations. On the subject of books where do you get cheap books for your settings from? In school we really struggle. Amazon isn't possible and discovered today that the Book Depository is blocked (no idea why). We can use The book people but there's a minimum order of £100. We just want to replace copies of old favourites: Gruffalo, Large Family, Winnie the witch etc - our current copies are disintegrating! Quote
lsp Posted June 25, 2015 Posted June 25, 2015 We use scholastic books. We run the book club for parents and use commission earned to buy books. Every little bit helps. Quote
apple Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 Another great book is 'It's a book' by Lane Smith - a wry take on book versus technology! 1 Quote
apple Posted June 26, 2015 Posted June 26, 2015 and I think this one has been mentioned elsewhere but it really is great fun to read.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qewZF-JaexQ Quote

Wondered why a minimum order of £100 from The Book People - I use them sometimes - usually to buy packs of books to split for end of year pressies and have never had to spend a minimum amount........
