narnia
So, in the world of 'we thought we'd give you a gift, even though you tell us not to'...........what's been your most unusual gift? So far, we have been given a set of coasters and an empty bottle ( ) chocolate....enough to outdo Thornton's................( I am diabetic !) last year we got a jar of jam that had been opened, wrapped and was mouldy (!) don't get me wrong, i am always touched that parents want to give us gifts..........but are they trying to tell us something?????. Guest
You know you have to record all gifts given and accepted? Had an email about it, something to do with child protection and the possibility that a gift could be seen as a bribe

HappyMaz
The most apt I ever received was some lovely body lotion. Called "Knackered Cow".
Panders
Somebody let slip I liked the odd G&T after a hard day, I have enough to bath in it now. We try hard to focus the present giving onto the pre school so we have had some lovely things for that. Can't say I've been given anything questionable either in taste or deed, if in doubt I would always love a hand made card or drawing! radish
How about a half eaten box of chocolates. The little lad was hungry on his way up to play school.
Fredbear
This year we had a beautiful hamper with afternoon tea in, complete with home made scones, clotted cream and jam, as well as three bottles of wine, that was so kind from a great grandma and great grandad. I am always blown away by the generosity of gifts, but more importantly by the wonderful words written in cards received.

Panders
Gin's all packed, will go down well with the Pimms, we'll get "bungalowed" even quicker! I see the weather in Glasgow is rather good - dare I leave the thermals behind for once? or could Cait have her own unique weather system? Have packed the goggles for sledging, have been known to get up a good speed on Cait's roof
twinthinguk
last year I received several different brands of hand cream........do I have nasty old crone hands or something? lol one parent was embarrassed as she had accidentally wrapped the tube from her handbag and given it to me, she arrived later with the correct one! lol
Cait
We got a lot of cakes this year. Boxes of 2, 4, and even 6 cupcakes each. Seems to be more popular than boxes of chocolates. Is this a local thing, or a national trend?

Froglet
I did have some cupcakes this year - had a red apple shape on top with thank you iced on it. They were made by a mum who does cake for a living! Had some other very lovely gifts (aprons, bunting, flowers and a wonderful Italian recipe book) most precious though have been the words in the cards. One mum put in 2 packets of seeds with a message saying "For you to grow in your garden as you have helped D to grow this year." And another from who doesn't really do talking who wrote a very sweet message about how pleased she was with the sway her daughter had emerged during the year. I cried!

The staff found it hilarious to see my reaction lol

We haven't got time to hang around here Froglet, we are all going to Cait's for the summer - pack up your cooking utensils, thermals (you never know up there) if you have anything that will go with Pimms that would be great she's made a bucketful, don't forget we'll be sledging on the roof too, so bring something soft to land on (not Sunnyday she's not that soft to land on BTW) Edited July 24, 2014 by Panders

Panders
No, never found the snorer, best not to ask too many of those types of questions young Froglet - best orf not knowing, don't you know. Edited July 24, 2014 by Panders
