Steve Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Hi all - Profuse apologies - we experienced an extended downtime today (not planned) which we're still getting to the bottom of. For newer members, this is the first time this has happened for seven years, and we hope to make it even rarer in the future. One thing that has become obvious is that we need a method of communicating with you if it does happen again, and so I'd like to invite any of you who have felt the absence of the FSF (or Tapestry, or the EYPS forum) today, to follow our Twitter account - @FSFSteve. Hope it wasn't as traumatic for you as it was for me! As you'll note from my photo, I'm not in need of more grey hair or wrinkles! 7
sunnyday Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Well.........I actually got some work done today! I did, however just have to keep checking to see if you were 'back'! 4
hali Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 well done Steve you deserve a drink now and to put your feet up :1b can i stop cleaning now  5
JacquieL Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Phew it was like being without a lifeline. I hope that you are having a bit of time-out to recover Steve? 5
HappyMaz Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 There was a national wailing and gnashing of teeth! Welcome back, and well done on getting it all sorted. Those hackers have a lot to answer for! 4
Guest Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 I have been unable to access Tapestry all day & still can't. When I try to log in, the page hovers, then reverts back to log in/ log out. Feel I'm going round in circles! Please help.......
Steve Posted March 14, 2013 Author Posted March 14, 2013 Hi clazza - Many apologies for this problem. We're still working on getting Tapestry back online, which is connected to the problems discussed above. We'll let you know when it is here - and hopefully that will be before you need it tomorrow morning.
Rea Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Working the night shift aswell? Thats dedication, when I'm allowed a beer I'll raise my glass to you ::1a
Rea Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Lent was just a coincidence, we just decided we'd been drunk once too often and needed a rest, had a bet with myself I wouldnt touch a drop until March 31st
Sharky Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Glad you're back, love the internet but refuse to be a Twit! 2
Guest Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Glad you're back, love the internet but refuse to be a Twit! Well said, Sharky! I'm with you 100%.
HappyMaz Posted March 14, 2013 Posted March 14, 2013 Glad you're back, love the internet but refuse to be a Twit! Ah but its all about who you choose to follow - there are some great people out there sharing lots of early years knowledge and expertise. Yes, there's a fair share of people posting photographs of their lunch too, but you're in charge of who you follow and so therefore what you see. And it has genuinely provided me with some of the best entertainment I've had online. Outside of the walls of the FSF, obviously!
SueJ Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Have so far avoided twitter (this extends to facebook avoidance too) - loathed to use these services as they are so hackable
SueJ Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Forgot to say however that good that FSF is back - missed the banter yesterday :1b
Guest Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Can I just say that a few times this past 10 days or so I have been unable to open the home page at all. . . . Its been when I am on the ipad and it tells me the site is forbidden or something similar!! Is this someone to do with your end or my ipad do you think????!!!!
Stargrower Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Same here. Get a 'forbidden' notice too. Makes me feel as if I've been naughty... :1b 2
Froglet Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Have to say if you're going to do that again Thursday is a good day for me ! Rarely check the forum while at school and was at choir all evening. I might be suffering from repetitive strain injury from the number of times I checked in the hour and a half between school and choir! Thank you for all your work in sorting it out. 1
