  1. How's the little one doing?
  2. Oh Sunnyday - I do so hope you have dodged it, given how hard you and Mr. S. have been isolating etc.
  3. Any Wordle nuts on here? I've been playing since the beginning January after Suzy Dent mentioned it. Cute game. Shame it's been sold to the New York Times.
  4. Well leaves have disappeared today just left with a little image box, with description Rank: Landscape design and gardening consultancy! (8/8) Curiouser and curiouser
  5. https://thefeltbox.co.uk/finger-protection-for-needle-felting/ You need these for your pinkies
  6. Stupid question maybe, but where did the green leaves come from on my Panda? Surely that's new😱🤣
  7. Food for thought there Cait - I had in my mind's eye making a quilt as a unique wedding present for middle son I do have until Sept 23 to get it done! Also thought I would like to make a couple of table runners in patchwork style as seasonal presents this year! The bed is at least king size, I suspect this generation think of a standard double as a children's bed these days. Youngest son who is about to move out to his new flat has bought a super king. Honestly, the only time one of those would be handy is in the summer!🤣
  8. I have been trying to find a charity which reconditions and sends on to purposeful project somewhere to take my old Singer. No success yet. Mostly they say it needs to be working - which it does, but as I mentioned one of he knobs has been removed - really have to get on this.
  9. Im contemplating patchwork - doing a little research, trying to persuade myself I'd be up to it.
  10. My DIL says her primary rife with it too and in a position where she is asking if she should take the girls out to home school for a bit. They are due to go on a much wanted holiday to Finland on the 6th and are so worried they wont be able to go.
  11. You'd have thought she would have completely dried out by now, she left wet and windy Cumbria a long time ago🤣
  12. Have you got the correct foot on Cait?
  13. I feel your pain Cait. I was given a swanky new Brother machine which I am getting used to. So many things it could be. My very old Singer was straight or zigzag only, however, the dial for it was - shall we say - temperamental, in the end I removed the dial itself, used pliers to move it between either stitch and because it began to jump between either stitch randomly, I used to tape it up so it couldn't🤣 Hope your issue is simple. Possibly google probs and some kind soul will have the answer, surprising what you can find on Youtube!
  14. By all means Louby Lou put it on your sewing groups please, also if anyone would like the yellow thingy I would happily post. There were also two of the wool separators so would gladly part with one of those. Think all these items must have been from an older person's stash, there were lots of knitting needles/crochet hooks and paper patterns etc. in the box I pulled this little bag out of.
  15. I can see how the ribbon threader could work - I sewed a few gift bags before the season of goodwill to put presents in and they had ribbon drawstrings, I used a safety pin for those. Yes they would come apart like an airfix model. The yellow thingy taking those bits apart would be more difficult, it's fairly thick plastic, but probably could be done. The last odd item in the bag was a plastic hexagon shape which I assumed was used as a template for quilting. Thank you Louby Lou
  16. Tantalising Louby Loo! I can see how the blue thingy would work given what you say. Also had these two things - obviously I've worked out what the yellow thingy is for, however, most of my cotton reels do not fit as they are too tall.
  17. Anyone knows what these might be? They were in a charity shop with a small bag of other sewing/knitting accessories.
  18. Did you see the nursery on BBC news today talking about about closures etc. very interesting, but Government position still the same. Parents are dead sneaky when it comes to sending the children in - not fair - they are young enough (the parents) to not always take it seriously.
  19. If only Louby Loo, I think his idea is popping back home and staying over a bit too often for me to go for a craft room just yet🤣
  20. Well exciting news number 3 son has picked up keys to his first flat today. He has no furniture - due to be delivered in 10-12 weeks 😱 he has a blow up bed and a sleeping bag 🤣 Soooo pleased for him, I am due to complete on the sale of my mum's old house on Monday, fingers crossed for that one. Call it a stitch and bitch Sunnyday they'll flock in If you weren't quite so far away I would come along too. You could have a Tic Tok or Youtube channel.
  21. Sunnyday, was sad on reading your post - as everyone has said I do hope that the procedure takes place as soon as possible and that she is well on the way to recovery very soon. As for 2022 bring it on! I truly believe this will be the last year of Covid restrictions one way or the other - I thought at the outset anything less than 3 years would be hoping for too much, the vaccines have been a marvel. Wishing all a very healthy and happy New Year.
  22. I exhausted myself cooking on Christmas Day for eldest son, wife and children, then again Boxing Day for middle son, partner and his children, well not the baby. Forgotten just how much energy it takes to entertain! Haven't really got back on an even keel ever since, certainly not eating - just not hungry, but nibbling. Youngest son spoilt his mummy with a new sewing machine ----- so I have been getting used to that - crikey how things have moved on since my old thing!
  23. I don't know why she had the photo, maybe just a trophy (Polaroid cameras were very new at that time). In real life there was a lot of speculation as to who it was, I don't think she ever said but it did come to light that it was a man called Duncan Sandys - who wasn't even in the drama. Apparently, she wouldn't say who a lot of her men friends were because they were gay and it was still against the law. I did like the fact that she said the man in the photo was her husband - the team then said he would have to be "checked" to make sure and she was very pleased at the thought of his humiliation. They really did want to destroy each other.
  24. Anyone watch A Very British Scandal? Not sure why I kept watching, it wasn't an enjoyable watch in any shape or form. I was intrigued by a story I kind of knew about from references in the press over the years etc., but really didn't take any interest in. With Claire Foy in the title role I thought I would watch - bit too soon after playing the Queen really - same sort of era - shocking the way the male establishment treated the real Duchess, but some of her little tricks if they are to be believed because there was artistic licence here, were a bit mean but in a way understandable.
  25. Merry Christmas to all our Readers! Hope 2022 is healthy and happy for all. What time is acceptable to start on the mum milk? (Baileys)😂
