Seriously now can it really be 5 weeks since we closed our doors...….

This week started 'badly' for me - I had managed to get myself so 'wound up' by this blessed furloughing business - I have decided to not even go down that route - only one funded child in February - felt like far too much hassle for very little result

Since then I have given myself a really good talking to

Worried about funding - meh nothing I can do about it

Worried about having to return in June - as above

Worried about whether not we will have any of our proposed new starters in September - as above

I have so much to be grateful for - a comfortable home with a large garden and small field beyond, we are well (touch wood) our family are well (touch wood), the sun is shining. Life has settled into a strange new routine, not getting a lot done but hey 'there's always tomorrow'! Walking round the little field everyday (PB today, 10 laps which, I think equates to roughly two miles and approx. 5000 steps), potter about in the house and garden (being careful not to break into a sweatxD), lunch, catch the news, bit more pottering, some reading....you get the idea

Think I will just leave this here:

'Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference'

Sounds like my week and new daily routine.

Although today I have put up a list of activities for next week on our Facebook page. (I would like to thank the Tapestry team for that :) )

I love sewing Bee, as a school child I had such a rough time with needlework classes - spent a lot of time being sent out! for misbehaviour.  As a young adult I got to grips with it and made several outfits, as a young mum I didn't have time but in the last year the sewing machine has been out again and I have dabbled, my eldest grand daughter loves sewing and although I still don't really see myself as a sewer I am happy to fuel her enthusiasm as it really is a lovely craft to have under your belt.    What they create on this programme is amazing sometimes.   Joe Lycett has made a huge difference to the feel of it.

No this is definitely one area we are totally different xD   (although you did catch up in the end :))

I've always just been able to sew. I cannot remember ever actually having been taught as such. My mum used to make my dresses, and some of earliest  memories are of going to the fabric shop to choose fabric for my dress. They all seemed to be one style - very much like what is in fashion for children today.

I think I just watched her as I played alongside whilst she sewed. I used to get frustrated at school, as things took to long - in the end I was allowed to just on with what ever I wanted - encouraged by a fantastic teacher.

I can sew a bit ...really simple stuff but my Mum was great at it I remember her creating sweet dresses with beautiful smocking on them . I still have some of the items she made at college as she studied domestic science and that was part of her course. I've been lucky that both of my girls did a sewing machine course at school so they can do it if they put their mind to it! :) really need to challenge myself to make something. I have a lot of old duvets that i was debating changing in to teepees for the pre-school

I have switched my school laptop off and am not going to open it again until Sunday afternoon when I need to send out my activities for Monday.

Tomorrow I have an ‘international coffee morning and bake off’ to participate in! Other than that, crochet and cleaning will make up my weekend. Am determined to start next week with a properly tidy house!

Not so bad a week here if a bit ‘samey’ ...get up, eat, stress over furlough, eat, stress a bit more, eat a bit (well eat a lot more actually) go back to bed, repeat..

A bit of excitement today when I managed to get a shopping delivery slot, the first in 5 weeks!

Our setting received a donation Cheque for £211 from PayPal in the post today, I’d had a few emails telling me there was a ‘grant donation’ waiting to be claimed from PayPal but thought they were scams and ignored them :-D

Unbelievable - mine is due between 4 and 5 this afternoon:D:D     I had to stay up until midnight when the new slots were opened up 3 weeks ago for this!

Spooky :o Mine's due then too!

I try and get an order about every 10-12 days.

We glove up and go to the supermarket, I do our families shopping and my husband shops for my elderly parents. We are very lucky down here, hardly any queues and quite civilised.  I will never again take for granted “popping “ into the shops!

think the words "nip" and "pop" are redundant for a whilexD  Imagine, though, some of your busiest season on the roads being so much quieter - I know its hard for local businesses, but there may be a little internal joy to have your area without soooo many people in it during the coming summer season.

Well shopping arrived, lovely van driver, strangely the things they couldn't deliver I don't really have that much trouble getting locally O.o  but the one thing we really really really needed they couldn't supply (Anti-reflux baby milk essential for the youngest grand daughter)

Mine was complete, correct other than a bag of crisps.    Can you get the milk via a prescription?  I have to say we have a very good village Facebook page and people sometimes make requests for specialist items  if anyone is going shopping.

It’s eerily quiet! Usually from Easter onwards we are inundated.  The majority of businesses down here are tourist related, so just hope they can survive.

Baby's dietician said that the local pharmacy would get it in for them, but they wont do that.   I have ordered some in from Boots for delivery - they have ordered in some as well, because there is, understandably, a restriction on how many any household can order, I just wanted to order one lot so that they have a tiny supply to fall back on if needs be.

I'm sure you have ...but have you checked on Amazon? You might need to order in bigger quantities but managed to find some for a neighbour on there. Baby formula does still seem to be a bit of an issue :( hope you get some soon XX

I think of you everyday when watching the daily briefings and note that your 'line' is thankfully quite 'low' on the graph

Ahh bless you, that is kind.  We are exceptionally lucky here, especially being so very rural! I just worry that if they lift some restrictions that people will choose not to travel abroad but come here in the summer instead. It really is a real concern.  There are already plenty of second home owners (quite a lot actually) and pockets of visitors walking around. It does make us locals a bit cross.  Cornwall has one main hospital and that is it, in normal summer seasons it’s stretched to its limit as are all other facilities and services.

I really hope that doesn't happen for you, I personally hope that Boris doesn't 'lift' anything in his review next week, but, unfortunately he doesn't take advice from me

 Can't believe that!  Why not?

No, I also hope that nothing is lifted for at least a week.
