What can we do with this very large reel

Recommended Posts

We have just been given this very large and very heavy reel. It is much bigger than I thought it was going to be.

Has anyone any ideas? As you can see from the photo it is too high for the children to reach the top comfortably. I have lots of ideas for smaller ones but this one I need help with. I did wonder about cutting it in half to make two lower tables......

Please - any suggestions (apart from getting rid of it)

Thanks

make a hidey hole, by cutting out a couple of the centre slats...............and drill small holes all around the top, to hang things from.............

check the fall height. I would say that is the same height as ours we use it for jumping and climbing!!!!! we do jump on to grass however which is a safe surface and absorbs shock

We have the same one after telling me he had a reel for us, I went to collect it not expecting it to be so large, but the kind bt man rolled it all the way to our setting, we just use it as a table as wasn't sure what to do with it, but i love the idea of hanging things around it Isp :-)

Check out Pinterest, they have some great ideas. I have just acquired some medium and smaller ones that I am about to attempt to revamp.

One of the ideas that I liked had a parasol in the middle and they used it as a table. I am going to Astro turf one for small world, paint one with blackboard paint.

I would like one - forget the children - I would like to convert it into an instrument of torture and have various individuals from local and central government in mind to use it on !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! - (It hasn't been one of the best days at the ranch LOL)

So far we are still thinking of what to do with the reel as there are quite a few good ideas and we only have one! thanks for your suggestions everyone.

A member of staff saw it advertised on Facebook free to collector - we didn't realise it was so big.
