Froglet
So, inspired by Zigzag’s description of the daily commute I’m wondering what the best bits of where you live are? And yes, I am looking for a holiday destination - really want to try and go away this year.
zigzag
Beautiful beaches with clear blue water, gorgeous countryside, friendly locals and a pace of life that is about ten years behind the rest of the country. Mustn’t forget about the pasties and ice creams they are also pretty awesome. Only drawback is in the summer Cornwall is full to bursting with tourists (and yes I know we need these as they are what keeps Cornwall going during the winter months) but the six weeks in summer can be awful!!
mundia
I live there! OK only joking. It's quiet, we have great neighbours. It's on the edge of town so feels village like yet near to shops trains doctors etc. House backs onto fields (at the moment haha). Plenty of wildlife. Great community.
Inge
A village on outskirts of a town, with a great community feel. Close to seaside with lovely beaches but no sea most of the time and it is usually brown when you do see it..Also surrounded by lots of countryside, hills and walks of all kinds.. Lots of activities and 'things going on' often free.. (see pic for last weekend's - 2 days of air festival and Forces village with entertainment, plus music , funfair and lots more . as it was taken into the sun it does not show how blue the sky was ) Big downside is the summer and good weather often means the place is gridlocked and you cannot go out of the area unless you want to sit in a carpark on the motorway, but there is really no need to leave so not an issue for us. Stunning sunsets at any time of year.. ( the sunset pic is unedited and exactly as it was 2 nights ago at 9.40pm) Edited June 28, 2018 by Inge 4
zigzag
Wow the sunset picture is amazing. We have had some spectacular sunsets recently but any photo I take just does not do them justice.
NickyR
We live on an Isle on the Jurassic Coast. Beautiful surroundings every way you look. These photos say it all. I love living here.

Inge
For us it was a happy accident, when My husband left the Army, that is where the job was.. could have been anywhere.. having lived in towns, country and all in between, here and in Germany while travelling with him, it was a bonus to get a job in a good location.

Same here I guess I do have have fields back and front (at the moment) and I can very easily get into central London so we can book theatre tickets on a whim cheaply for same night. We sometimes have 'free airshows' as we get the rehearsal/ display practice during the week ...... I'm scrapping the barrel here..
