Have spent far too much time in the messy activities this week and the result is dry sand papery hands. Can anyone recommend a really good hand cream that actually works. ???? narnia Posted January 25, 2017 Share Posted January 25, 2017 I really like L'Occitane stuff...........................but also use Nivea Intensive, and the Norwegian formula stuff is really good. If they're really bad, try putting a goodly amount on before bed and wear cotton gloves.......they should improve with that. Stargrower Posted January 25, 2017 Share Posted January 25, 2017 You could try O'Keefe's Working Hands. It comes as a cream or a lotion and is pretty heavy duty. It even stays on after you've washed your hands or had them in water! I use it if my hands are really bad, especially at this time of year. louby loo Posted January 25, 2017 Share Posted January 25, 2017 Every so often I coat my hands in olive oil, and then put plastic disposable gloves on. I try and do this on an 'a home' cleaning/faffing about type day, and when I have a coffee break I massage my nails through the gloves. I first came across it when it was prescribed for my daughter's eczema. It doesn't disappear after a few minutes like most hand creams but it also doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky and greasy either. It goes in just the right amount and stay there. A dollop rubbed in before I go to bed does wonders. If you want something heavier, 50/50 cream from the pharmacist is ace. It's like super soft vaseline. Put it on and a pair of cotton gloves works wonders.
