Hand cream recommendations.

Help, my poor old hands are looking like a 90 year olds and not my youthful 42 years!! Have spent far too much time in the messy activities this week and the result is dry sand papery hands. Can anyone recommend a really good hand cream that actually works. ????

I really like L'Occitane stuff...........................but also use Nivea Intensive, and the Norwegian formula stuff is really good. If they're really bad, try putting a goodly amount on before bed and wear cotton gloves.......they should improve with that.

Failing that, delegate all the horrid jobs to everyone else :)

Ha ha, if I did that, then they wouldn't get done.

Every so often I coat my hands in olive oil, and then put plastic disposable gloves on.

I try and do this on an 'a home' cleaning/faffing about type day, and when I have a coffee break I massage my nails through the gloves. Works well for me, Also use the Aveno hand crème for daily care.

I use the hydrous ointment

I'm sure you can buy it much more cheaply from a local pharmacist.

I first came across it when it was prescribed for my daughter's eczema. It doesn't disappear after a few minutes like most hand creams but it also doesn't leave my skin feeling sticky and greasy either. It goes in just the right amount and stay there.

A dollop rubbed in before I go to bed does wonders.

If you want something heavier, 50/50 cream from the pharmacist is ace. It's like super soft vaseline. I had the best hands ever when I had to massage it all over my baby daughter number one twice a day.
