catma Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Or I make it all up as I go along. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-34453564 Cx 1
Panders Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Crumbs, isn't she one of those they are saying wants to be the next Conservative leader?? As a child I would have loved being in school for an extra 5/6 hours! (not) Are we to assume that these extra curricula hours will not be teacher led?
Jester Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Oh dear, it does sound like she is making it up as she goes along!
apple Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Ggrrrrrr    sorry to blooming irate to speak. I am sick of being seen as child care and not what I trained to do... teach ggggggrrrrrrrr
eyfs1966 Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 I can't really see any "teeth" to this...wording a bit vague...sounds to me like schools can get round it by "signposting to appropriate provision" as many currently do. Frankly it reads like a "what I want for Christmas" list, lovely, sounds attractive, but unrealistic!
catma Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 well if you believe "50% of teachers want to quit" then I'm nnot sure who will be runniing the school part of a school let alone the wraparound "childcare" bit. Cx 2
SueJ Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 But this is a marvellous idea - in one sweep she can put all the pre-school, after school and holiday care provision under the maintained sector umbrella and then we can stop whinging about costs, qualifications, ratios etc. Oops sorry my inner cynic popped up there !! 2
Rea Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Some of these ministers are moving further and further into fantasy land, no idea what goes on at all have they??
Stargrower Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Round and round we go. I'm sure every "cluster" of schools providing wrap around care was on the agenda a few years ago. They just give it a new label and regurgitate it! 1
