Steve Posted December 20, 2012 Posted December 20, 2012 Shouldn't that be 'Meatloaf is' Rea? He used to be a man - although he could well have spawned a number of tributes...
HoneyPancakes Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Last time I saw Meatloaf he played just enough time not to have to make a refund and went off sick. Very disappointing. You'd do better to go to the FSF do. H 1
HappyMaz Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Honey, my friend went to one of the concerts Meatloaf did to apologise for that gig (and others that he was forced to cancel). She said it was fabulous: he just kept on singing, telling everyone how sorry he was, and that he wanted to make sure they had a good time to make up for it. 1
Rea Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Mom's been giving me 'that look' about going to uncles birthday! 1
JacquieL Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Perhaps Steve might be second best . If he starts practising now he might just do a fair Meatloaf impression by April ;-) 1
Rea Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 Possibly and the idea is very tempting should he go for it, but I have reservations
Steve Posted December 21, 2012 Posted December 21, 2012 I think Paradise By The Dashboard Light is beyond me, but I'm not too shabby at Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. 1
Sue R Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 . Rea, have you seen Meatloaf before? I have seen him several times, and while he always gives good value (I seem to have missed the 'sick' shows) I would rather go to the FSF celebrations because of this.... the family party might be a bit trickier though................. Sue
Rea Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Haven't seen him Sue and this is being billed as the farewell tour
Steve Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 I suppose we could invite him down as the evening entertainment. Gazump Birmingham... 1
HappyMaz Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Wonder how much that would cost, Steve? 1
Guest Posted December 22, 2012 Posted December 22, 2012 Honey, my friend went to one of the concerts Meatloaf did to apologise for that gig (and others that he was forced to cancel). She said it was fabulous: he just kept on singing, telling everyone how sorry he was, and that he wanted to make sure they had a good time to make up for it. We saw him in Birmingham just before he cancelled or cut short shows through illness and he was fabulous He was on stage for over 2 and a half hours so definitely no complaints from us. Nona
mollypiper Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 I was wondering if there was going to be an option to come just for the day. I only live 45 minutes from Brighton and would be hard pushed to justify the cost of staying overnight!
HoneyPancakes Posted December 23, 2012 Posted December 23, 2012 Haven't seen him Sue and this is being billed as the farewell tour That last tour was supposed to be the 'Farewell Tour'. Meatloaf and Dame Nellie Melba... H
Helen Posted December 23, 2012 Author Posted December 23, 2012 Hi Mollypiper, Yes, there will definitely be a day delegate option; we are finalising costs at the moment, but it is likely to be around £50 - £60 for the conference, lunch and teas/coffees..... plus an additional cost if you'd like to stay for the evening buffet. :1b
Guest Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 If funds allow, would love to attend - haven't seen ABC and soooo want to ! Will start saving now! - No Meatloaf though, hey
SueFinanceManager Posted December 24, 2012 Posted December 24, 2012 If funds allow, would love to attend - haven't seen ABC and soooo want to ! Will start saving now! - No Meatloaf though, hey I think I can virtually guarantee a Meatloaf free event.....as I will probably be helping Helen with things I will make sure his booking gets lost 1
Andreamay Posted December 26, 2012 Posted December 26, 2012 Well I live a long way away but my best friend lives nearby so it is def an option for me! Its a shame a few of the crew cant make it tho isnt it? but whatever date you choose wont suit all! andrea
lashes2508 Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 well I could book the tribute band 'Stale Loaf' - they need to earn a crust or 2 2
Alison Posted January 2, 2013 Posted January 2, 2013 WOW 10 years! its all going too fast, I still remember signing up and all the help this site gave me while I was studying, its been a God send, big thank you and heres to 10 more years success 2
Beau Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 So, it looks like we're trying to decide which is the better option - Meatloaf or the forum celebrations! 1
Sue R Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Well, having seen ML, I would definitely go for Forum celebrations!!!
HappyMaz Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 Well, having seen ML, I would definitely go for Forum celebrations!!! Well since my initials used to be ML (from my Mazlittle days) I was about to snort a 'harrumph' in your direction... until I recognised the context! 1
Sue R Posted January 7, 2013 Posted January 7, 2013 As if I would differentiate between Forum celebrations and the famous HappyMaz!! 1
Guest Posted January 10, 2013 Posted January 10, 2013 I would also like to come as a possible day plus evening rate as I only live in worthing. Thanks
Verona Posted January 11, 2013 Posted January 11, 2013 I would also like to come for a day or perhaps both as i live near Brighton - what is the "programme?" Sue J
