SueFinanceManager Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Talking of blubbing.....I was really tearful watching to two rowers who just missed out on gold and then had to be helped out of the boat and up to an interview with John Inverdale and by the time he had finished apologising for letting everyone down even John Inverdale was teary eyed and struggling to do the next link. I have found the whole thing very moving.....loving seeing all the London landmarks that have had an olympic makeover 1 Quote

narnia Posted August 5, 2012 Posted August 5, 2012 Went to the football in Cardiff last night, normally loathe footie, but I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the game was over much more quickly than I expected. I actually found myself cheering 'our' lads on and was disappointed we didn't win! Quote

HappyMaz Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 I'm not sure how I'd cope if the Olympics was on during term time - far too much time spent in front of the box! Glad you're enjoying the sport, Sue! Quote
Guest sn0wdr0p Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 Thanks Inge, My sons have taken possession of my laptop to play the google bar game. It's football today!! As usual mummy is last! The youngest wants a swimming game so hopefully we haven't missed that one. Quote
sunnyday Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 I'm taking 'multi-tasking' to a whole new level this evening.........typing my new Prospectus, visiting the forum and watching the diving!!! 2 Quote
Froglet Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 (edited) I like it - Olympic multi-tasking! You could get gold! I'm reading assorted Ofsted documents, jotting down ideas for next year and thinking about doing the dishes as well as watching television! Edited August 10, 2012 by HelenD26 1 Quote
Inge Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 the dishes are in the sink... the diving is on the telly and a glass is in my hand... does that mean I qualify .... ( the dishes will still be there in the morning though.. it is not much as we had BBQ dinner so only 2 plates and a bowl or two and the steamer .) 2 Quote

Panders Posted August 11, 2012 Posted August 11, 2012 And breathe....So pleased for Tom, he looked so very happy after his last dive, you could feel his relief. 2 Quote
Froglet Posted August 12, 2012 Posted August 12, 2012 Lovely to see how pleased he looked. I'm finding it really hard not to cry whenever I see anyone win, or not quite win or get their medal! 3 Quote
Inge Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Reviving this one as I just watched the BBC2 drama - The Best of Men.. on how the Paralympics came into being.. well worth a watch.. and I do hope they advertise the events a bit more than they are now... I did not realise there is to be a 24 hr torch relay from Stoke Mandeville to the Olympic stadium.. I hope Channel 4 are able to televise a fair amount of the events... I do enjoy watching a lot of the events. Quote
Froglet Posted August 20, 2012 Posted August 20, 2012 Glad to hear that Inge - I've got it waiting for me on i-player at the moment. 1 Quote
