  1. I think the Martin Lewis money saving website has this information - well at least it used to have it, I haven't actually been on the site for a few years now. I used to really like him when he first started out, but now he just seems to shout at everyone talking 'at' them instead of to them and he winds me up now watching him.😳
  2. We had a few showers yesterday, one heavy, but today quite a bit of soft constant, then torrential for about an hour - garden very happy.
  3. That's why the children just wear socks...... you check for 'dampness' and any added colour or texture on socks! 🤣 I think the 'ball pit' areas are not to be used yet ?- which I guess it the main offender accidents to be fair.
  4. Took me almost 2 hours to find that one 🤣 !
  5. Well I'm stressed. It turns out the academic diary I ordered isn't actually A5 😭. AND I paid more than my usual £1.99 from the works 🤣 It is very pretty, but my folded A4 'important' bits that I seem to collect throughout the working day will not fit neatly. I could gift it to my deputy though- I think she'd like it 😊
  6. I was going to buy the book 'Little Fires Everywhere' but ended up watching the series on amazon prime , which I'm enjoying- I vary rarely watch TV so it makes a change. I read Miss Bird and loved it, I've just downloaded the Potato Society book. I've got to the point of the holiday were I'm thinking -.... "🙀not much time left!!!" Had a panic when I realised I have got new Academic diaries yet!
  7. We've had hardly any rain, a bit of thunder yesterday afternoon. A bit cooler today- but still very hot if you actually do anything.
  8. Coffee made!
  9. Love and best wishes from me too Zigzag.
  10. I think this is the issue with part-time staff working term time only. In an emergency people need to ring the direct mobile number and not spend time searching for just where a person might or might not be at any given time/day.
  11. Although I may change my mind.... Literally just had a parent ring (should add on work phone) confirming she has all sessions booked for September, me .......'erm no, have have the slip in my hand that clearly says 3 days". silence then.... parent replies 'Im sure I ticked all the days" 😭😭😭 At least my very short working day yesterday meant I had the paperwork to hand- even if I actually ended up doing nothing yesterday.
  12. Actually the more it's said to me- the more determined I am to make it work!
  13. I have a friend like that, she keeps saying the very same thing.
  14. I've driven through our town twice - (through and back again) and that's about it. 3 miles away, I've been 'this side' as that's were the setting is, and there's a coffee shop in the park we're in, and I have had a few coffees there. I did once venture into our biggest main town and went to Asda, that was about mid June. I don't actually miss anything- other than early morning coffee + brunch.
  15. We are a term-time setting our phones are stored in kitchen on full display, but out of children's sight/ reach. Our staff work different hours and all have either dependent children or elderly parents, and I feel times have changes so much (not just covid related) that phone policies need to reflex individual settings. Ours clearly sets out how and we why do what we do. If we were a full time setting we would probably have a completely different policy.
  16. if you're not a coffee lover maybe just a very small amount of sugar 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon just to take the bitterness off? Or completely leave it out if you like strong coffee.:)
  17. Oh, I shall try that on Wednesday, my daughter coming over again and we miss our coffees out. 😁 I made one where you frothed up a small amount of instant coffee mixture for about 5mins with a small whisk and poured over milk and ice cubes. Note; I may have made my 'pool party' sound a bit posh- I should add it was a kiddies small blow up paddling pool party 🤣
  18. WHAT!!!
  19. Well my day started well... I was in the 'office' at 8.50 ready to crack on with TDL........... 9.05 daughter arrives with the baby, and the day went to pot! We had an impromptu socially distanced 'pool party' with my friend a few doors down who looks after her grandson. We had a lovely morning at it was good to see the two babies socialising as they should (10mths and 7mths). The two mums are best friends too- it was so nice to be 'almost' normal. Days like today make me feel a bit more positive about the future. I still sometimes think it's all like a bad dream.
  20. Well I did read if you have trouble sleeping in this heat you should put some socks in the freezer then slip them on- apparently cooling your feet this way helps 😃
  21. Well done!!! ☕🍰
  22. Mine was frustrating. They all live in an English village near Salisbury ... yet the child has completed 5 weeks of school during the 3rd week of August which is the same time the main character finds out she is pregnant- fast forward 5 months and it is the start of winter 😂
  23. I love the randomness and the casual 'I bought a car this morning' being secondary to the importance of turning a sock heel 😂 For the record I have done nothing all day other than finished reading an annoying 99p kindle romance.
  24. A few days rarely but you might see a few shooting stars 🌟
  25. Ours has always been this method. We only claim for our returners at this point though- just in case we have 'no show/changed minds' etc in September, We then put in the full claim in in September.
