  1. Your'e not going to make me read that are you 😱...... it's not even 7.30 and I've had to classes of wine - and I'm not even a drinker!!
  2. Well if it not financially viable i.e as you say not enough families ?
  3. Have you looked into it? I'm at the point I really don't want to go in, and I don't feel I should ask my staff to if I don't. I think for owners it's a really stressful time because at the end of the day it's all on our head! I have member of staff that is 72/3 type 2 diabetic, overweight and her husband is in the vulnerable group- but insists on working as she says she needs the money. I'm pretty sure her family would have something to say if anything happened to her or her husband. I can't afford to pay her to stay off as I'd also have to pay cover. I also have staff that need to earn a wage the help pay the food bills (or in one case a massive vet bill) Note- I'm not being judgmental about being overweigh - I could do with losing a fair few lbs myself
  4. If we are not getting funding for the children not attending does this mean we can now furlough our staff?
  5. Listening to the news now, and I'm now very concerned. 1 in 50 have the virus. This is an average- so I'm guessing in my area this is possibly higher
  6. How long are you staying shut for? I've been getting txt today asking if we are still opening tomorrow- I think parents are getting a bit twitchy now.
  7. Yes, the first five years are the most important - except this is not compulsory. GCSE and A Levels are not important.
  8. Classic! That's cheered me up no end 🤣
  9. Actually, I wonder what would happen if we invited our local council to come in and do a covid safety compliance check? I'm pretty sure we'd fail because our hall is pretty rough 😳
  10. I signed an open letter to Gav.
  11. It's sort of extra stressful as my husband really doesn't want me working.
  12. I might try, better than sending to myself! Does your link generate a letter even if you don't belong the education union - think I shall try...
  13. No
  14. I'm seriously thinking of sending myself my section 44 letter. I'm almost ready to throw the towel to be honest, I just feel to old for this now. Tomorrow we're in with no children, and until the 18th we have an average of 9 children a day. I going to see if my deputy wants to take over completely, and I'll just be admin from home and emergency cover is really needed.
  15. Well at least the Early Years Alliance are try to get us priority vaccinations.
  16. Definitely!!!!!!! not if there is someone home. I thought I'd added that!!!!
  17. I think ours will do it if it enables other childcare to remain open this time? If my deputy couldn't come in we would potentially need to close, I think the LA have got involved this time. Our part-time/ term-time hours are not going to be paying any mortgages if her husband had to stay at home.
  18. Well I would say no in that case, unless your open for a fair few more and it make economic sense -that and sometime a few more children are easier than just 3 or 4. I know we're going to have an issue if we go down to keyword only. We have two...HOWEVER both of these parents use us as a 'top up' as the other full day will not honour the 30 hours!! -so they do a few with us. I'm going to tell them they will need to use their first choice for universal funding and ww will transfer the 30 hour funding that we get for them!
  19. ehm...arhh...arhh emm...emmm argh.... don't go out, unless you have to go out, hmm ahh ehmmm.....open, unless you have to close.... hmm...
  20. I think it's one of those grey areas. During first lockdown it was both in our area. I think it's more flexible now though. I know few setting are giving priority to both, then depending on availably opening it to just one key worker. I know my deputy has a space for her son and last time she wasn't eligible.
  21. Thank you that zigzag - hopefully won't need it though!
  22. What kind of things have you put on your do/dont's ? We've said about dressing appropriately as will have the doors/windows fully open throughout the session. We also have a cold hall, and we won't be putting th heating on with all the windows open! I like the idea of calling them if the child isn't dressed well. (ours mainly seem to come as Disney princesses) We have also pointed out the children will have free access to our 10ft square complete mud-pit of an outside area.... so please do not send them in in their new white trainers! We have dropped to morning only sessions- as our lunchtimes would be our flash points for infection transmission. We've also asked for parents to temporarily drop the amount of sessions they attend. It really is a difficult one about whether or not childcare should open or not. I feel if you are in a purpose built building you can usually have small bubbles of children etc, and can probably open reasonably safely. If you're in one rented hall big hall you're actually pretty stuffed really.
  23. Interesting...
  24. Well it's funny you should mention that. Just before Christmas we didn't have any hot water, it's going to be a shame if I go in next Tuesday and there's still no hot water. Obviously I could have checked it all and got it sorted by now.......... however I'm in T4 and have been asked by Boris to stay at home.....
  25. I am more than envious !!!! I don't think I can take the backlash if I send out that kind of letter- I already having moaning parents
