  1. Fantastic Froglet !
  2. Thank you sunnyday, I’m more worried for this cohort being school ready than the ones who missed their last term before school. I’m hoping it will have the desired outcome 🤞
  3. I’m with you on the feeling useless, I have no idea how to put this right, staff morale is pretty low ...there are always 2 or 3 in a cohort that need more support with behaviour strategies but this is ridiculous and can honestly say only 2 or 3 are not presenting with challenging behaviour in this year group and many are turned/turning 4 already, even when we have our doubts they usually step into the shoes of those just left seemlessly but it sure hasn’t happened yet.... in fact the younger new starters are a breeze compared 🤔
  4. We don’t have any diagnosed (other than Salt) SEND at the moment which is unusual but oh boy they have returned with some challenging behaviour, some were off from March but not all, independence has gone out the window and many are not listening to a thing anyone says to them, they are answering back and snatching from each other, either that or they breakdown at the slightest thing, I have never known such a high maintenance group as this school cohort have returned....I’m hoping reverting to one group might help them settle, they can play with who they want to, where they want to most of the time and be with different staff as I feel this might also be impacting on behaviour 🤷‍♀️
  5. Hi Rachel and welcome, I think after a while you’ll find what suits you, many will say don’t statement tick, but Tapestry is designed to tick statements so we always have, though starting again now we might not (and just use the bands/refinements and with what appears to be a wider window for development with the new EYFS coming through) we add professional judgement as well not just what we might have a photo for (though we do one Ob over the week dated to each Friday and add as we go to that ob). The thing I’d say to be most aware of is not picking up statements in a lower band that you think you’ve missed once they’ve progressed to the next and the same with picking up odd statements that are easily achieved in a higher band if that isn’t the general stage their development is at as it does throw the progress tracking (it took us a while to figure that out). At the end of the term my staff will check the Summative Assessment and change any band/refinements they think are a bit off and we then print to look for areas that might need specific support (next steps) for the following term. Good Luck, it will soon become clear how you want to use it for recording progress 🙂
  6. All sounds positive sunnyday, I’ve made the decision to unbubble following the half term break providing nothing has changed in our guidance which will be a relief, I’m looking forward to getting routines back in place that have been put aside and some spending time with the children from the other bubble, it will be interesting to see the affect of going back to free flow has on some that are showing quite challenging behaviour (or is that just wishful thinking?). Cases are rising in our area but still quite low compared to some areas so🤞I won’t move everything back and find out we need to limit numbers mixing again 🤦‍♀️
  7. We did ours on Zoom, it went better than expected, more parents than would have actually turned up and a full committee 🙂
  8. We charge an hourly ‘fairer funding charge’ for funded chn and one of the things we provide are good quality waterproof trousers/bib and braces. If anyone is near a Lidl they have some fantastic sets in at the moment.
  9. No, it does need to be via the browser, I add the key child so staff see a notification on the app, that takes them to the browser.
  10. Hi FM, when I want to share things with staff I use Reflections, I add a key child for each staff so that they see the notification on the App (parents don’t see them), I also ask staff to add feedback from any training, add any handouts or links they received and anything they feel we should be implementing and then all can discuss thoughts on that 🙂
  11. Cryptic pop groups for starters: 1- Cheerful start to the week 2- GP snagged 3- Easy primary colour 4- Fun park with magnetic attraction 5- Getting nowhere 6- Gorgeous, but not from up north 7- Senior teachers speaking 8- Not an old command 9- A single way 10- These lads sale domestic animals
