  1. What I love about this weeks tennis is all the doubles matches, love doubles, but especially the invitation matches with some of the older players, Mansoor Bahrami, what a sweetie that man is.
  2. So sorry for your loss zigzag. Your posts have always been filled with love for your dad and the difficulties he has had over the last couple of years. He passed with you and your mum there - it is sad and uplifting at the same time. I too felt the same about my dad being my hero and I too was there for him at the last my mum having being unable to be there but in another part of the hospital at the same time in 2003 - you will always gain comfort for having been there with him I feel, as Sunnyday has said, sending much love.
  3. Actually Brogan was my favourite too and the girl who was a Vet who went out surprisingly early on children's week.
  4. great final cant say the winner was my favourite at the beginning of the series but warmed to her over last 4/5 progs absolutely deserved the win
  5. do hope Katie Boulter does well - had quite the time of it healthwise in the past
  6. Its the little bird icon at the very top of the page by the "bell" notifying a new post
  7. Exciting stuff
  8. Duvet day cant beat them - just a shame you weren't too perky - hope you feel fully recovered soon. I've quite enjoyed Silent Witness lately and The Chris and Rosie Ramsey Show, both BBC
  9. Family afternoon - baking and cooking like mad this am. streetr party Saturday - that could get chilly!
  10. Oh Froglet - was that a Covid thing? Have you any idea if you will get your sense of smell/taste back?
  11. Keep strong Zigzag - totally understand your loyalties, but don't forget to remind yourself why you are doing this occasionally.
  12. 😲 not long then! Have you actually done the deed? or will you go to the end of summer term? Mmmmmm just think of those leisurely walks with your dog on beautiful mornings
  13. Oh Zigzag, I am sorry to read your post. I understand it wholeheartedly and I think it is that way with many of us, something always triggers these feelings and after so many things happening, it may well be something quite small that says - enough is enough, too far now. As you say, once the passion has gone it's not fair on the children. You have a fab group there you will be sorely missed I am sure. Good luck with the future, take it easy for a while before committing to other things.
  14. Just had a look in 'This Little Puffin' book, Here comes a big red bus, A big red bus, a big red bus; Here comes a big red bus To takes us to the shops other verses might be..... Minibus to take us all to school motorcar to take us to the sea taxi-cab to take us to the station dustbin lorry to take away the rubbish it says sing to the tune of Jack and Jill I struggled a little with that! Also felt it was a little of its time - maybe Another one is a version of I went to visit a farm one day I went across the street one day, and saw a car across the way and what do you think I heard it say? Brrm Brmm Brmm other vehicles could be motorbike/bus/ lorry (milk float not very likely around here😂) there are a few others but nothing I would have thought suitable for toddlers
  15. Twinkle twinkle chocolate bar my dad's got a rusty car turn the handle (?), pull the choke off we go in a cloud of smoke just don't quite remember the few words before the choke 😂
  16. Yes Mr. Panders tells me we have one of our own, and my son has one too, so I think that will be the way we go, rip off the covers first and then go for it.
  17. Well obviously Guy Fawkes is a great excuse - and if we did it after dark probably get away with it. I inevitably complain about neighbour behind us who seems to delight in burning his garden rubbish just as we get those really lovely clear days early autumn, soooooo upsets me. I think he's a little too old now, or his family have put him right, and he puts it in the black bin for collection. I'll ask Mr.Panders see what he thinks
  18. Yes that would be a problem for us
  19. I have been having a sort out - what do you do with used diaries (particularly old work ones?) If you dispose - how do you do that, mine are of the rather large variety or very thick
  20. Oh wow Louby loo - which sewing machine did you go for? I have been very pleased with my Brother I must admit. I did though have to photocopy and cut out a piece from the manual regarding some of the switches to remind me which was what and I stuck it to the machine!
  21. Ahh Froglet time to switch off methinks.
  22. Sadly no, Zigzag - saw it on a webcam😉
  23. Hey Zigzag - just watching a gig being rowed out of St. Ives harbour and thought of you - it is your son that races gigs isn't it?
  24. Ah we had a very light flurry yesterday afternoon, but nothing as yet today, Quite chilly though. 8 year old granddaughter has chicken pox, quite badly bless her and as all the children were here at the weekend, I suppose it could have been a super spreader event! Goodness, as I type the sleet has started😂
