  1. might say as it's only the 3 of them they will need to pay the extra costs involved to open just for them
  2. I always changed nappies side on, but my daughter in law does it with baby's feet nearest to her, can't see that it could matter enough though. What activities are you planning to do if and when you return, anyone got that far yet?
  3. I do feel it will be parent led in the end. Schools may have to open, but children don't have to attend. There may be a few parents who will trail blaze and send their little ones back, and then there maybe a dribble of people copying, not a great analogy, but a little like the panic buying scenario - a few at first, then others watch and copy until most think well we must do something, it seems ok to do it.
  4. Apparently in some areas of Spain the local councils are removing the top layer of sand on the beaches to clean them! Part of me is hoping this is a myth.
  5. The items being stored, i.e wooden toys, soft furnishings and toys, no malleable materials, sand, water etc., could need to be stored until an effective vaccine is administered to the population - this is not nursery/pre-school we are left with, this is a baby sitting service so parents can work, that is all the government are interested in. I sincerely hope they inform their colleagues in Ofsted.
  6. Yes chocolate and yellow for a marble cake, but now I get the gist better of what you are doing with the wools, marble cake probably too boring. So will the fruit cake one have icing around the border? You aren't thinking of making it for the sparkly season? All the cakes I keep thinking of have quite mono coloured, will go off and have a good think
  7. MMmmmmmm marble cake blanket
  8. I think this problem is technically explained that, if a nanny or cleaner is not a member of your family you are unlikely to hug them, or get too close to them, so the R rate is unlikely to be affected. Exceedingly frustrating for all of us who would be so much happier for being with our families.
  9. yea, that was my first one!
  10. I attempted the 3rd face mask today - even though a simple affair, my little bit of perfectionism won't allow me to love it . I find the instructions on the net don't always reflect numptiness - bit like assuming everyone's a great cook and understands cooking terms, I'm not really spatially (sp?) gifted, and even with some of the photos I can't quite get it sometimes when putting stuff together. I need to really watch it being done I think.
  11. https://www.msn.com/en-gb/news/coronavirus/boriss-school-reopening-plans-in-chaos-as-government-scientific-advisor-admits-there-is-low-confidence-pupils-cant-spread-coronavirus-and-ministers-have-no-idea-if-it-will-trigger-a-second-wave-in-shocking-and-disturbing-commons-car-crash-appearance/ar-BB142wF5?ocid=spartanntp
  12. Well from the little I've read this morning, it seems Bozza's plans for school re-opening are in chaos! Science and cabinet are not in total agreement. Could be a much later start back than expected maybe.
  13. It begs more questions than it answers and so I suspect the devil will be in the detail yet to come out.
  14. I suppose it's possible, but he didn't actually say nurseries, but as many are attached to schools, its a might be I suppose.
  15. yummo - good choice
  16. Hey - happy birthday Cait hope there's a little bit of GF cake in the offing later. Have a lovely day
  17. My area would normally be putting on a street gathering, they even do one annually. We have an odd layout to the 30 house estate where we live, one end is far more sociable and ready with the idea of gatherings - newsletters, etc. my end is full of old codgers who aren't that interested, but normally manage to get together for drinks at the colder sparkly time of year (see what I did there?). They haven't to my knowledge arranged any gatherings but they do all sit out in their front gardens on sun loungers etc., so I suppose there will be lots of that going on.
  18. I'm afraid the cynic in me says that to make a programme appear to have jeopardy, some of the contestants are asked to have 'troubles' The lady who had made loads of smocked dresses over the years turned out to have the worst - possibly because she was too pedantic and perfectionist, but it didn't appear to be the case in the end result, however went on to have the best costume and short dungarees
  19. Well done Mundia, I have no idea why I couldn't remember who it was - I only know the current one by the name Rishi.
  20. Sorry, driving me mad so had to Google
  21. Ker yute!
  22. I'm sure in the past there has been a lot more unpicking . I assume they only have just enough fabric too, because surely they would cut out another pocket if they found they had cut one upside down. Hard to know how much experience some of these sewers actually have. The time constraints and the whole making a programme thing must be quite daunting
  23. A type of rocky road, refrigerator biscuit
  24. I did have a little google yesterday
  25. did it mention what was supposed to be wrong with it
