  1. That is a lot of money - definitely a community effort needed, or sponsorship deal, oh Fm I hope something comes along
  2. Gosh tricky one Fm,. It crossed my mind that it has to be something the parents need rather than want (nothing too frivolous during these times). So some thing as easy as doing a meat raffle or or other baskets of goods that people need and are happy to gamble a few £'s weekly or monthly to win. It's a lot of admin I suppose - and maybe not enough reward for your needs. or running one of those 100 club things - or maybe you aren't allowed to gamble gamble🐼
  3. Take it he's o k about standing outside then and understands why he must.
  4. Tests came back negative for my lot. I assume they just need to show a text message they have received to confirm to school
  5. Can certainly tell what everyone's anxieties are about 😀. Try for a better night's sleep tonight all. Popped in to say the family have had their test done. Bit traumatic with eldest granddaughter. Complete runaround with the siting of the testing facility - told it was in one place but it hadn't been able to set up because the car park was already in use🤪. So they had over an hour's drive to the first venue, then another half an hour to the next. Don't think people will put up with this if it continues to be so haphazard. A little more efficiency is required somehow. They now await results which may take up to 48 hours.
  6. 5 year old granddaughter visited yesterday, she has had one day in school, Friday, I thought she had a bit of a croaky voice yesterday.......... This morning mum phoned, she has a temperature and sore throat. They are all off for a test today - an hour away, nothing closer - surely that has to change for the future if that system is to be well established.
  7. I couldn't agree more - I haven't asked - but maybe they aren't going in pairs, would that make a difference
  8. one of my ex employees, now working as a teaching assistant text me today to say they they were - and they were going into the homes, not just the garden, they were social distancing though! I truly thought that this would be one of the very last activities the schools would re-adopt. I value its importance, but gosh - at this moment in time I'm shocked.
  9. May I ask, has anyone resumed home visiting? If so, under what precautions
  10. Before a return to work after summer hols I would dream that I had lost at least one or two of the children in the garden, or they had escaped etc. Thank goodness once we had got back to work they stopped. I'm sure yours will too Sunnyday, I'd be totally surprised or worried if you weren't having them - not long to go now
  11. I'm getting ready for granddaughters sleepover - summoning the strength for it all😘. All should be calm by Sunday evening😃 😅|Phew none of us went missing on 101
  12. Storm Francis saw to our lunch trip yesterday! My OH only happy to go out to pub gardens, but not eat/drinks inside. I am out today for lunch with friend, but I expect we will be ok where we go, very large airy restaurant and extensive garden.
  13. well hallooo Jimbob.😘 Loving the "fringe".
  14. They'd never dare make us all disappear😇 Hmm, Jimbob - I suspect you must be black and white then! and partial to dog food !!!!
  15. Getting old, thought my post had disappeared - just on the next page!
  16. Rafa, I think that's the way for a lot of us. It was meant to be something I did for a couple of years while the children were going through infant school, however, I stayed over 20 years and became the owner of the pre-school too!
  17. I had a "Ruby" magnum a couple of weeks ago, which I thought was rather odd tasting. Far prefer the regular and at a pinch the almond. I do try very hard not to make a noise whilst eating them though😂. Is Jimbob a tabby? I rather fancy a grey/silver tabby although I could do without the gifts.
  18. i'm only coming if Sunnyday brings the magnums
  19. it's hard to quite take in that it's 4 years!😆
  20. I am so pleased for you Zigzag and your dad. Sounds like you intend to make the most of every moment.
  21. sounds like a bit of a Six Dinner Sid to me😂
  22. Yes, there's a community college nearby. The children, mainly the girls do "stand out" it has to be said, even if in more mainstream clothing, they all wear a head scarf covering which rather singles them out if you bump into them in Sainsburys say, but used to it now - I hadn't realised it was a world wide community though.
  23. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m00071xr/inside-the-bruderhof Anyone else seen this programme? its about the community in Robertsbridge area of Kent whose people make the Community Playthings furniture and toys. You do briefly see the workshops, but predominately it about the people who live there and their beliefs.
  24. D'you know what - it's that cool here today, I may bake a cake😁 It's hard to take on how different my mood is today compared to the last 7 or so.
  25. Guernsey Potato Peel Pie Soc brilliant
