  1. An apprentice sounds like a great idea fm - can't help with any tips though
  2. Not a film - but I am watching 'Life' on iplayer and really enjoying it - also enjoyed 'Us' last week when waiting anxiously for news from Mr S When you have finished your spare room clearing could you please pop down and do mine for me young Froglet! As for the weather - grrr - thought that the rain was finished here, pegged out a load of washing - it is now getting an extra rinse🤦‍♀️
  3. Here we are again - it's Friday! Very good week at work - long may it last! Mr S is getting stronger by the day, thank goodness........you are really not meant to come out of hospital in a worse state than when you went in🤦‍♀️ he needs to go back to hospital on Monday for another x-ray to establish whether or not his lung is re-inflated, a long way to go for an x-ray but needs must All a bit wild, wet and windy here - not my favourite weather at all - think we are forecast some respite tomorrow - let's hope so! I have a pretty long TDL, should get on with now really, but I am tired and when tired everything seems to take twice as long so will tackle it tomorrow Hope that the weekend is kind to all
  4. He is home, very 'fragile', don't think I need to worry about him doing too much after all Anyway it's lovely to have him home
  5. Great news! He will be home this evening - phew! I do hope he is going to behave sensibly and rest (will be having words if he doesn't!)
  6. Yes, I think so, a lot will depend on how today goes I think It is hard not being with him, but completely understand that is just not possible - so lots of text messages and phone calls - at one point yesterday he was back on oxygen so unable to speak which was horrible
  7. Hi my lovely Friday Friends - just a quick update re Mr S - sadly things went a bit pear shaped yesterday so there was no happy homecoming...... He has a small tear in his lung, the result of which is that there is air leaking into is chest which is causing a partial lung collapse - yesterday was very, very scary, but the absolutely fabulous news is they are fairly certain that the tear will heal on its own......otherwise he would need another procedure to insert a chest drain, which carries additional risks so obviously best avoided I am so grateful to the team at the Royal Brompton - he is receiving the best care It is a bit of a waiting game now
  8. So here we are another Friday! Good week at pre-school, although I am worrying about the rise in infection rates as I'm sure we all are Mr S is still on track to come home tomorrow afternoon - please keep everything crossed for him Hope the weekend is kind to all
  9. I will get him to ask the Docs advice re bouncing - he is not allowed to lift...….🤣
  10. 🤣 I haven't tried yet! Happy to engage with it, if I can download, although my life at present consists of home and work!
  11. Thanks Panders - he is on his lonesome, which is very hard, no visitors are allowed at all, son dropped him off yesterday and if all continues to go plan he will pick him up on Saturday Much 'bigger' procedure than last time - all done under a general, his Dr said as the target area was so deep in his lung it would be too "traumatic" to do under local and sedation We are so grateful that he has been given this treatment Just want him home now
  12. Not Friday I know - but just wanted to share that Mr S had four endobronchial valves fitted this morning, all good so far <touches wood>
  13. Hi I had a prospective parent yesterday, I made it clear before her visit that she wouldn't be able to come in but could just view from door, I went outside to chat with her I have a little boy who is hearing impaired, think his 'teacher for the deaf' might want to visit soon, will suggest outdoors I think SALT could possibly do the same?
  14. Yes, children use it on entry - not something I ever thought I would be doing, but needs must I think - our Primary School do the same
  15. Don't feel guilty - we all deserve some down time! I have just had a text from a prospective parent - she wanted to check that I had received her email yesterday as I hadn't replied 🤦‍♀️ I have just texted back to confirm that I have received it and that I will reply tomorrow as I am having a family weekend - really don't feel the need to be at everyone's beck and call 24/7 Sounds like your reply to your worried parent was spot on
  16. Ah, that's not good, really hope that cold clears up soon. Sending a virtual hug x
  17. Check if you can claim back Statutory Sick Pay paid to employees due to coronavirus (COVID-19) Louby does this help at all?
  18. I think you make a good point here my little black and white furry friend! I am looking at my next year 'leavers group' and wondering how on earth we are going to 'catch up' and have them anywhere near 'school ready'
  19. Oh no zigzag, sorry to hear you have had a tricky week I recognise everything you say in your post, oh my actual goodness the manners thing is getting to me have to remind all the time but especially at snack "yes please" don't just nod or point, you know how to say "milk please" or whatever...... Pleased to report that our week has been much better - worried about tempting fate now! Hope everyone has a restful weekend x
  20. There is an advantage to my position of not visiting any shops...... I just have shares in Amazon 🤦‍♀️🤣
  21. You rebel you 🤣
  22. I would never leave you on the naughty alone (even if I did grass you up)
  23. Not guilty miss - that young Froglet started it 🤣
  24. Oh have just followed your link - how lovely!
  25. Young Froglet - I have been looking at yarn and sock knitting patterns - very tempted to give it a go - figure I have a 'mentor' if I went wrong!
