  1. I can't let a Friday pass without comment - but don't want to be too negative on this lovely thread.... It has been really difficult - I did comment on another thread and explain that we are not in our usual room within our building, so we are now effectively 'pack-away', I am not enjoying that at all I know that we haven't provided the best experience for our children and I find that hard to take as I am so proud of our lovely group We have had 'tears on entry' from three children - we just don't have this usually, i think because we have such a good settling in procedure, which has been impossible To add insult to injury - quite literally - we are a very small staff team of three and one of my colleagues has broken her arm in two places today (not at pre-school) so we are now down to just two, she is saying "I will be in on Monday", I have told her to see how she feels over the weekend I am beginning to think that I have made a dreadful mistake in re-opening at all Feeling miserable and despondent today Will have to give myself a good talking to Happy weekend all
  2. I promise I am not being purposely obtuse, I am not clear why and when you need a parent to wear a mask - is he wanting to enter your setting?
  3. I certainly would expect the parent to take a test and child would not be able to attend - it is all there in the guidance I fear we are all going to face these situations with great regularity In my humble, there is no way in this world that we can take a "oh no it's not Covid" as a basis for decisions
  4. What circumstances?
  5. Yay! I am so pleased to read that
  6. As ever we are the 'poor relation'
  7. Wouldn't it be a good plan to supply some tests to all schools and EY establishments? Too much like common sense I suppose
  8. Keep us updated please fm
  9. Our first day was not quite so successful - one returner not at all happy, she settled in the end, one newbie came in so happily but had a complete meltdown when it was time to visit the loo and wash hands for snack - turns out that she is terrified of air hand dryers (we don't have any!) had to call mum back, she managed after a lot of screaming (child not mum!)to take her in and show her that it was all safe (bit frustrated that we didn't have this important bit of info relayed to us beforehand) We have had to re-locate within our building - so we are now 'pack-away' - this is not cool, we have been so spoilt for the past 26 years! 'Things can only get better'!
  10. I honestly think 'runny nose' acceptable - but nothing else!
  11. Fingers crossed that all is okay - please keep us updated x
  12. That is worrying - mind you, everything is worrying right now!
  13. Oh no!
  14. As ever, you have made me feel much better! Someone used the phrase 'post covid' this morning - I couldn't let that go - we are not post anything we are still in the middle 🤦‍♀️
  15. I feel the same way louby, after months of sharing ideas via email we have been together over the last two mornings, so much better
  16. Well it's Friday again! Hope everybody is well and that if you have been at work this week it has gone swimmingly - my first day back on Monday! Have a lovely weekend y'all
  17. If anyone has any top tips for how to get parents to actually read the 'bumph' that we send - do please share with me..... If I get one more email asking me questions that I have covered a million times I really won't be responsible for my reaction! 🤦‍♀️ Have just sent a final 'update/recap' - it is very short, they don't even have to open an attachment - don't want to hear from them again now! 🤣
  18. It certainly is not allowed 😡 what a poor example to set
  19. Oh you poor thing - it's horrible isn't - sending a virtual hug x I haven't had anymore since the ones that I shared on the Friday thread <touch wood> so hopefully you won't either We (staff team) have been in this and will do again tomorrow morning - this was the first time that I have seen my deputy in six months - crazy business!
  20. 👎 that's crazy
  21. Goodness surely not? I would have to wear full hazmat to visit homes - perhaps that's just me.....
  22. That's all I've had louby - hope there isn't anything else!
  23. Have you seen it now anju - I can't link on this device - but I can fire up the lap-top if you need me to?
  24. 🤣Go fm! Nothing more than I expected really (not of you, of the Government) My last complete day of freedom today - I have in mind a line from Kris Kristofferson's 'Me and Bobby Mcgee' - quote 'freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose' - after six months I think I have had enough 'freedom' for now! Staff in tomorrow and Friday, children on Monday - yay!
  25. Sending positive vibes to all
