  1. They really do look fabulous! So smart.
  2. Fabulous! What’s your clan tartan? Did you hire or own? We bought our son a new kilt and kit for his wedding and it was well into four figures back then in 2014! He’s had loads of wear out of it, living as he does in Fife. Graduations, weddings, big group get togethers - any opportunity. He’s put on a bit of weight these days though sadly, from his wedding 22” waist ( or less, can’t remember) so I’m going to have to move the leathers a bit.
  3. Phew! I’m pleased to hear it! The virus seems to have depleted in strength since the early days, thankfully, but they do keep warning us about different variants that sound worrying! When Mike had it early on, the hospital whipped him round anti-virals to take. We had to notify the hospital immediately if he tested positive and they were here with the meds within the hour!
  4. Happy Friday all. Sun is shining here and grass is growing. Time is coming for gardening blisters!
  5. Well even though, for obvious reasons, Christmas is seriously pared back here, the wrapping still took over 2.5 hrs because I’ve just got little things, but obviously lots of them! Granddaughter has the usual amount of course
  6. We are getting some amazing sunsets.
  7. Well it’s Friday, and my day for sanctuary duty at church. Cleaning the brasses and filling up the candles - oil ones these days except the Advent wreath. Others go vacuuming and polishing, flowers etc. It’s only every couple of months as it’s a good rota, we do two Fridays on and then six Fridays off this year!
  8. I’d have thought definitely by year 1 it could be written correctly at the bottom of the writing along with a ‘well done for trying’
  9. Really lovely to see your name back in the chat! I hope all is settling down a bit for you, yes life (and death) sadly does trip us up 😕🥺.
  10. I call them WIPs. Work In Progress
  11. Late to the party again! I hope you had a fabulous day and there was plenty of cake!
  12. Looking fabulous. I’ve seen another similar where she’d done green icord stuffed with pipe cleaners to make tendrils. Maybe I’ll have a go sometime.
  13. Wowsers! I’m thinking, something to aim for - but I don’t do all that now!!!
  14. Welcome to our lighthearted chat
  15. Super happy birthday wishes to our lovely Sunnyday! I hope you have a really fabulous day xxxxx. Oh, and there’s cake of course!
  16. Erm, I think we missed Friday 🤣🤭
  17. The picture doesn’t do them justice. They’re actually white, but the light is rubbish today and my ‘warm white’ ceiling light makes them look slightly apricot coloured. Lilies are opening already!
  18. Thank you all so, so much for the beautiful flowers which arrived this morning. The little daisy card is so, so perfect, as that was his favourite flower. He mowed round them in the lawn and even transplanted them to the flower beds when I wasn’t looking 🥰🥹
  19. A sad Friday for me, as ‘Zebedee’ died in the early hours of Tuesday after his long fight against cancer in his bones, prostate and finally liver. He was upbeat to the last and in control of what was happening. He was at home and went peacefully, without the drama we had been forewarned could happen. My best buddy at peace now.
  20. Oh I’d have gone for ‘turkeys’ 🤣🤭
  21. Ugh to the rain! We could get those canoes out of storage and our waterproof balaclavas and come and rescue you if needed!
  22. Oven 160° and line a square 8” tin with baking paper 1tsp bicarb, 1 tsp Baking powder, 150g sugar (I use light brown) 110g plain flour, 110g oats, 110g butter Melt the butter in the microwave until just melted, and add the other ingredients and mix until combined. Tip it into the tin and firm it down nice and flat. Sprinkle the berries - fresh or frozen, on the top, spaced out ideally. Then just bake it. It takes 25-30 mins, but until it’s nice and golden. You can use jam on it, but if I’m doing that I keep a third of mix back to sprinkle on the top before baking. Makes a good date slice that way too, 225g well chopped dates simmered with 125ml water until soft, then add a tsp vanilla extract. Put that on like the jam when it’s cooled a bit, and sprinkle the remaining third on the top.
  23. They were! Really easy recipe - do you want it?
