Sunnyday, so sorry to hear about your granddaughter hope she makes a speedy recovery. Glad the shed is nearly complete! I expect Mr S is already planning the next one!  Shame you don’t live nearer, bass is all my husband is catching at the moment and all I want is pollack!  Ohh I want to know what happend at knitting group….
Nothing exciting here this week, same old same old.  Grandson is being christened on Sunday so have that this weekend.
Froglet that pumpkin cake is great. Clever you. Hope you enjoy half term, can’t quite believe it’s that time already!

Sue...Sue...Sue - louby is using that C word again!

Noted although have been so busy during September/October with work (not fun stuff lol) only just surfaced and clocked it - dare I say given all the shops especially garden centres are awash with stuff for the festive season (see still cannot say it in October)  I may have to let it go on this occasion 🙃

Mum and I went for a  mooch around B&M and the range the other day (what a way to celebrate your 91st birthday) and the range was like Christmas had been sick everywhere! 😱. Although I hold my hands up to buying my GS two of the cutest pairs of Christmas pyjamas!

Good morning -'tis Friday!

Thank you so much for the good wishes for my granddaughter - she is and I quote "completely back to normal" - phew.

Thanks too for my birthday wishes - I celebrated before the day (no good having a Monday birthday) with my various outings - all lovely - especially lunch with all family, I tell you organising my lot can be like herding cats, but all made it!

I'm thinking of zizag and mousie this morning - horrible weather in their part of the country - hope all is well with them.

I am granddog sitting this week - she hasn't been delivered yet - they must have decided to delay their journey and I am so pleased about that (who wants to tow and then set up a caravan in this weather)!  Uh oh - she has just arrived - soggy Spaniel anyone! 🐶🤣

House - still haven't exchanged - I have to try not to think about it...

Shed (bloody shed) all done now apart from the 'electrics' - 2 x parcels have arrived from Screwfix this morning - deep joy!

I had my Covid vaccine - the price had jumped from £93.00 to £99.00 in a week - just rude!

This weekend we will be lunching with one of Mr S' cousins and family on Sunday - another birthday celebration (not me, his wife) - they are just a lovely family so really looking forward to that!

Take care all - stay safe xxx

I have my own soggy spaniel thanks Sunnyday and usually my son’s soggy sprollie dog as well! Like a drowned rat I was when I got back with them yesterday! I’m so not ready for wet muddy dog walks again!  We haven’t blown away yet! I woke up at 4am and all was eerily calm and quiet, then woke up at 6am and all hell had broken loose! Luckily no damage and no power cut (as yet) but it’s still quite wild. Hope everyone else is safe and in tact.

I only just remembered what day it was! Happy Friday everyone and very belated Happy Birthday Sunnyday - just shows I haven't logged on since last week to get Cait's timely reminder!

I too have a soggy doggy as I'm dog sitting again. Her owner delivered her yesterday with lots of blankets to cover my sofa and chairs with and we had a lovely walk by the canal this morning. She's so funny though - I'd planned for a lovely long walk down the canal and through the park the long way round. Halfway down the towpath by one of the exits into town she stopped and clearly wanted to go that way - there was no way she was going any further forward so the walk was cut in half!

Family get together this weekend which will be lovely. I'm doing all the cooking for it as my lovely mum and dad aren't up to that any more so I am in my element. I've made garlic bread and veggie lasagne, vats of different kinds of soup and next will be working on a cheese and onion quiche and decorating a 'bonfire cake' - basically a sticky ginger layer cake with treacle toffee flavoured icing!

Lots of audiobook listening while I'm pottering in the kitchen.

Stay safe in the stormy weather everyone!

Well - surely you wouldn't even notice another 'soggy spaniel' 🐶🤣

Great to hear from you - have been watching the news reports fro Cornwall - whoa - a tad breezy!!!

Wow where have I been 🤷‍♀️and it’s half term already, it’s gone so fast but thankfully so much more chilled, numbers are lower than I’ve ever known but after last year it’s good for everyone to have a bit of breather and getting back to what they do best rather than fire fighting all day long. If you’re on half term have a good one.

Hope everyone including family are all recovering well, and I hope the storms haven’t been too unkind zigzag, we’ve had a few trees down around my parts.

How weird, I'm sure I posted a 'thank you for the birthday wishes' message yesterday but I can't see it! Anyway, thank you! We had a lovely family weekend with cake the day before and yesterday I took myself to the cinema and cooked a nice tea. I was going to go for an autumnal walk but it was absolutely chucking it down here!

Good morning - 'tis Friday

Hope everyone is okay

I had a rather 'rude awakening' this morning at 5:45 with a phone call from 'Lifeline' (personal alarm system) - this for my poor sister who was on the floor and unable to get up due to her disability...all's well that ends well - she is okay - ambulance crew able to get her onto an inflatable cushion thingy and get her off the floor - she is not hurt - phew...

Granddog still with me, home tomorrow and the we have the two youngest grandchildren for the day on Sunday.

No movement on the house sale - this is all pretty stressful - but I just have to leave it to Estate Agents and Solicitor not much more than I can do.

Think that's me caught up now.

Have a good weekend all x

Hi All,

Froglet- sorry! I missed your birthday, hope is was agood one.

Sunnyday, glad your sister is ok now. It is amazing how things have moved on with lifting people nowadays.

Funny old week here, had a granddaughter for a sleep over - therefore a 'full on' arts and crafts session 😂  Have the grandson next week, a liitle easier as I'll bring him home from work with me, then take him back to work with me in the morning.

I need to get out in the garden this weekend and do a bit of tidying, they stop collecting out garden bins soon. We had to start paying for collection this year and they only collect for 10 months, not the full 12! 😬

Have a good weekend everyone, supposed to be nice- unlike last weeks 'wild wet and windy'one.

Hello everyone,

Sunnyday, glad your sister is ok. I'm sure you're enjoying all your 'grand' time.

Louby - I am envisaging a house full of glitter and scraps of all sorts of things!

I finished my cross stitch this week, had my flu jab and have a cough. That's about as exciting as it got around here!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Good morning - 'tis Friday

Brilliant news here!!!

We actually, finally exchanged contracts on Tuesday - phew! We accepted the offer on the house June 8th, it has been a long and painful process, but at last we are well on our way to completion 19th November <touch wood>

How people do this house selling/buying regularly I really don't know.

I just can't wait to be free of talking with Estate Agents and Solicitors!

In other news - we have youngest grandson's birthday on Sunday - he will be nine - no idea how that happened! 🧡

Hope everyone is okay

Have a good weekend all x

Great News about the house sunnyday!

You saying about your grandson being 9... I've actually been a bit down this week. I'm finding it quite sad at just how fast time seems to be flying past at the moment.

That said, I've actually had a really fun week, so not sure why. 😂

I guess it's just knowing that your getting old I suppose 🤷‍♀️

Hope everone is keeping well.

x

Sending a hug louby - isn't it horrible when you feel like that - especially when you are not sure why ❤️

Sunnyday that’s fabulous news.

Sending you a hug Louby. Time goes so quickly it’s frightening. I sometimes panic that we are so stuck in the everyday, working, making ends meet, cooking and cleaning that life is just passing by whilst we wait to save for the fun things like cruises etc😉 My husband is  currently counting down to retirement, he has eighteen months to go but I feel like we shouldn’t be wishing time away and feel guilty further doing so.

I can understand Mr zigzag counting down to retirement - it's a whole new level of freedom really x

Congratulations on the house Sunnyday.

Louby - another hug coming your way! I know that feeling well. Take care of yourself.

Zigzag - time does seem to fly, take care of yourself too.

Back to school has been a little manic to say the least and I feel like I've spent half the week recovering. Nothing special has happened and nothing special planned for the weekend. We will see what next week brings. I have half a day booked in with an upper KS2 class - wish me luck!

A conversation with my soon to be nine year old grandson...we were watching a programme about Komodo dragons

J: they are venomous

Me: Oh are they I didn't know that

(I was thinking, great use of words there, venomous, excellent!)

He went on to say...

They are and if one caught you, you would be venommed - ah right, yes, okay then! 🤣
