Took me a good week after being able to get out of bed before I felt ‘normal’ again. So really lost 2.5 weeks to it. Never want it again! Thank you for asking lovely Sunnyday. Xxx 1 Quote
louby loo Posted December 31, 2025 Posted December 31, 2025 Thought I commented on the Christmas festivities already 😮 Lovely time here too, very low key this year- but actually really nice. Now gearing up for the 6th Birthday celebrations tomorrow 😂 One very hypa young lady at the moment! I mean 6 years!!! Where did that time go 😳 Good to hear you are over your flu Zigzag, and I hope your son's visit went/is going well. Happy New Year to everyone. 1 Quote

sunnyday Posted Friday at 11:24 Author Posted Friday at 11:24 Good morning - 'tis Friday. Happy New Year! Christmas was lovely for us - we were with eldest son and family on Christmas Day and youngest son and family on Boxing Day... Tuesday of this week we had a bit of an adventure (!) we travelled up to London by train as Mr S had a hospital appointment, well two in fact, all was going swimmingly - train on time, taxis readily available but then when we got back to St Pancras we got caught up in the chaos of the 'tunnel' being shut - it was fine but it did give us a sort of 'what the heck is going on here' moment...poor people who were trying to travel via the Eurotunnel, I felt so sorry for them... Other than that it has been a fairly quiet week - not a complaint - I am all for the quiet life! Quite looking forward to getting back to 'normal' next week with my usual activities re-opening... Oh, we had a 'smattering' of snow overnight - but nothing much - think we are currently under a yellow weather warning but although very, very cold we have a beautiful blue sky Hope everyone is okay Take care all xxx 2 1 Quote
Cait Posted Saturday at 00:07 Posted Saturday at 00:07 Snow here too, not enough for the old skiing off the roof we did in the old days - what a gang we all were - but definitely balaclavas out of storage weather! Happy new year to you all. Xxxx 4 Quote
Mouseketeer Posted Saturday at 07:40 Posted Saturday at 07:40 No snow but freezing 🥶 So looking forward to the Monday morning -4 degrees conversations … Me - “you must be cold, where is your coat”? parent - “they wouldn’t put it on when they got out of the car” (no of course they wouldn’t) Me - “do you have it”? parent - “I left it in the car, will they need it?” 🙇🏻♀️ hope you all manage to dodge the real stuff ❄️ 2 1 Quote

Froglet Posted Saturday at 23:02 Posted Saturday at 23:02 I know those conversations Mousie! Christmas was at my sister's and New Year's was just quiet. Bitterly cold here too but so glorious with the sunshine and bright, clear skies. Went for a lovely walk at Calke yesterday with a friend and today was just errands around town. I've decided to try and keep a nature journal - the intent being to help keep me moving and getting outside regularly! Started a new pair of socks today. It's a textured pattern with patterned yarn which means it doesn't show up brilliantly but I am really trying to use up some of my stash of yarn! Having said that I did get yarn money/vouchers for Christmas so have a couple of bigger, new projects in mind! 3 Quote

Having said that it was glorious outside today and the cold is the best excuse for hot chocolate or hot spiced apple juice! Plus balaclavas absolutely essential! 1 Quote
