Snowing here today in jolly Yorkshire and I’m back with my bedcover, started when Mike was still here. He chose the colours. I’m going round each square again before they’re sewn together. It’ll be a nighttime hug to him from me. That's lovely! There is something really comforting and satisfying about granny squares isn't there? I love how much memories of a person can become such a part of an item like a blanket. Quote

Froglet Posted Friday at 14:26 Posted Friday at 14:26 We don't have snow although it's flippin freezing - gloriously bright, clear skies though! It's beautiful! Had a lovely surprise yesterday evening - a knock on my door and a woman I was at playgroup and then all through school with was on the doorstep. I last saw her around 30 years ago. We still exchange birthday and Christmas cards and I wrote her a letter a couple of weeks ago. She now lives in Ireland but was over here visiting her parents and took the off chance that I'd be in. It was so lovely, we had a great catch up. I'm on cushion making now and then I'm planning to have a go at making a new seasonal outfit for a rag doll I made when I was about 13. It's time she has a new dress I think! Have a lovely weekend, take care everyone. 3 2 Quote
zigzag Posted Friday at 18:10 Posted Friday at 18:10 We had a proper hard frost this morning, which is rare for right down the end of Cornwall! Was blooming freezing. But it’s been a beautiful day. Cait that blanket makes me smile, it’s just like one that my Mum made decades ago and is a core memory of always being there when I was growing up. I think she probably still has it, being the hoarder that she is! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and the temp warms up for you all. Xx 3 1 Quote
louby loo Posted Friday at 18:18 Posted Friday at 18:18 Late again! Evening all. Went to my dance class this morning only the teacher had lost her voice- so we sort of did it to hand signing, and it was actually really good. No snow here, had sleet Wednesday. Took the grandson for a sneaky father christmas visit yesterday (sister at school) and very typically he actually posed for the most beautiful photo that we can't actully display 😂 I have the Gd for a sleepover tomorrow - so lost of crafts this weekend! We only have three more weeks of preschool, and I'm away the week after next - so only two actually weeks left for me, and as I only do 3 days a week that = 6 more days for me!😮😳 xx 3 Quote

It's good - bit like a moist caramelly madeira cake topped with a caramel with almond flakes in. I think I should maybe have cooked it for about 5 minutes less - the caramel is verging on bitter but overall it's good! 1 Quote

Froglet Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago 😂 Anytime! I keep trying to decide what to do with myself in the longer term - I love feeding people and making things - maybe having your 'friend' as a lodger could be the way to go... 1 Quote
