sunnyday Posted Friday at 10:38 Author Posted Friday at 10:38 Good morning - 'tis Friday What a horrible week we have had ... dear friend died Monday night, not expected at all and yesterday my DIL's mum suffered a TIA. I have had to educate myself pretty fast about TIAs - I had no real understanding of the implications for her... Hope that everyone else is having a better time and can enjoy the long weekend x 3 Quote
Froglet Posted Friday at 10:54 Posted Friday at 10:54 Oh Sunnyday, I’m so sorry to hear about your tough week. Sending good wishes for you and your family. Apart from lots of long walks with my doggy house guest I have done very little. I am feeling very lazy and need to do something about that next week! 1 Quote
sunnyday Posted Friday at 15:44 Author Posted Friday at 15:44 On a much brighter note - Mr S and I have been to watch our youngest granddaughters drama school's production of 'Annie' this afternoon and very good it was too - very proud nana and granddad! 1 1 Quote
louby loo Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Late to the Friday chat - but just had a lovely week in Norfolk. Sorry to hear about your week sunnyday. TIA's are a worry, but often a a early warning sign. My brother had one about 6/7 years ago, and is absolutely fine now, and they thought Andy had one about 10 years ago - but it turned out to be a return to migraines (he used to get really bad ones in his20/30s). The good news is they are now both in 'the system' and get regaular health check-ups. Andy has his next regular MRI scan next Sunday. Good that your week ended well with a little show 🎶🎶💃🎶🎶 Froglet- I love that you are enjoying the dog walks 🐕 😊 I just have one more week left before I return to work- I have no list, and I have done nothing much workwise this summer!!! (I may need to put a little effort in this week... well at least do the new registers 🙄😂) 1 Quote
zigzag Posted 7 hours ago Posted 7 hours ago Sorry to hear about your week Sunnyday. Louby loo, how do you feel about going back? Am I right in thinking it’s your last year? 1 Quote

Am I right in thinking it’s your last year? If I'm totally honest if the scouts/landlords rang me this afternoon saying 'sorry, you can't have the hall anymore' I wouldn't loose any sleep tonight! 😂 I am neither looking foward or dreading going back. I used to enjoy spending time during the summer hols planning (not planning planning!) our return - updating policies, thinking about resources, going in to tidy cupboard and all that gumph etc. Then towards the end of the hols I would actually be looking fowards to returning, having more structure to my day and meeting people. This year zilch interest whatsoever! - I guess it a case of "when you know you know" .... and I definitely know it's time. I don't even feel any guilt about not doing anything 😂 1 Quote

Good that your week ended well with a little show 🎶🎶💃🎶🎶 Thanks so much louby - that is all so encouraging. I don't usually 'knock' the NHS - Mr S has received some outstanding treatment...however, this all happened on Thursday, my DIL went straight down, 111 said ambulance unless you have someone to take you - that was easy my DIL drove her to hospital where 'eventually' she was given a CT scan and that was how they diagnosed TIA as opposed to Stroke - not too bad so far...but then they released her at 8:15pm with no info apart from call in at Tesco and buy some aspirin - that's dreadful. Thankfully the 'specialist team' rang on Friday morning and gave her further instructions e.g. do not drive for at least 28 days... Oh well, onwards and upwards, she now has a MRI scan and assessment tomorrow morning so hopefully this will be informative and should lead to appropriate meds being prescribed. Quote
