Froglet Posted May 9 Posted May 9 I am eagerly awaiting my sweet peas and strawberries to see if anything actually grows - that will be a huge achievement I went to see War Horse at the theatre yesterday - was awesome, I’d wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone! Today has been a day of gentle errands, picking up some new walking shoes, baking a loaf of bread and a tealoaf which is in the oven at the moment although I didn’t use my usual dried fruit so I’m interested to see how it turns out. I’ve finished crocheting a blanket and am half way through knitting a pair of socks. I will hopefully get to see my brother tomorrow as he’s heading down south for a canoe tournament and next week I’m hoping to go to a quilt show. 4 1 Quote
zigzag Posted May 9 Posted May 9 What a glorious week weather wise! Would actually be very grateful for some overnight rain for my garden! Think we may be getting some rain on Sunday. It’s that time of year when I am chomping at the bit to get my seedlings out of the greenhouse into the garden but just know that would tempt fate and a cold spell! Currently looking after my Grand dog as son is away in America/Canada on honeymoon. I think my dog may be going to pack her bags and go to my Mums for a break from her! Last night we went to the theatre to see the only fools and horses musical. It was really good and the actor playing Delboy was so like David Jason it was uncanny. Sunnyday I hope you feel ok after your jab. Froglet what did you use in your tea loaf instead of your dried fruit? I love tea loaf and make it quite regularly. Enjoy the beautiful weather everyone and have a super weekend. 2 Quote

I threw in some chopped walnuts too (can you tell I'm clearing out the baking cupboard?!). It's fine although it feels less fruity as the dates have kind of blended into the cake. It's very moist though. I'm having no problem eating it! 😉 2 2 Quote

sunnyday Posted Friday at 08:45 Author Posted Friday at 08:45 Good morning - 'tis Friday Have had a bit of a sad few days as my beautiful Chocolate Lab granddog had to be put to sleep - I just need to remind myself that he had the best life imaginable and his suffering was quickly relieved 💔 I have lots of 'babysitting' duties with my two youngest grandchildren coming up which will be lovely. How can it be half-term already? Hope that the weekend is kind to all x Quote
Froglet Posted Friday at 17:13 Posted Friday at 17:13 So sorry to hear about your granddog Sunnyday. Enjoy your upcoming babysitting. I took mum out for afternoon tea yesterday which was lovely but so filling! Today has been very lazy - a little crochet and much pootling. I must get my act together tomorrow! There are some arts events over the bank holiday which I'm hoping to get to. Other than that - have a lovely weekend everyone. 1 Quote
louby loo Posted Friday at 17:14 Posted Friday at 17:14 Evening all So sad to hear your news sunnyday 😢 Nothing much going on here, except I have shingles! Hope eveyone's ok - it's very quiet here 😮 Time is flying past so fast, I cannot believe we will only have 6 weeks left when we go back 😳. Have a good weekend all. Quote
zigzag Posted Friday at 19:06 Posted Friday at 19:06 Sunnyday I’m so sorry to hear your news. It’s a horrible decision to have to make but the kindest. Louby Lou hope you are not feeling poorly with the shingles and it soon goes. What amazing weather it’s been, sadly changing this weekend I think. The garden will be happy though. Well my son is back from honeymoon, they had an amazing time. They had their 20 week scan today and everything is looking as it should be, which is wonderful news. I had no idea it was half term! Guess I would have realised when it gets busier down here next week. Funny how my life used to run in terms now I don’t even know when the term times start and finish! Have a lovely weekend all. 2 Quote
Mouseketeer Posted Friday at 19:53 Posted Friday at 19:53 Hello all, I don’t seem to make it in much lately, but like to catch up on what you’re all up to. I’m currently 56 hrs a week staffing down (including the recently appointed deputy) which as you can imagine in a small team is hell, I am far to old for this full time practitioner malarky, not sure how I’ve made it to half term,I think the committee think the admin fairies rock up and do my job overnight 😵💫…..if anyone fancies a bit of bank staffing 😉 Have a great week all x 1 Quote
