sunnyday Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 Good morning - 'tis Friday Another week that has just whooshed by. Hope those still working have had a lovely half-term break. Have looked after youngest two grandchildren for a couple of days - only to find that youngest grandson now has Chickenpox 🤦♀️ sure it will all be fine 🤞 he is fine in himself just a wee bit spotty... Still really enjoying my little Knit and Natter group (aka Stitch and Bitch!) we are now passing our blankets on to our nearest Hospice, they use them for fund-raising and/or for patients - we currently have six ready to go and it's a lovely way to use them. Off to Sainbo's now - Mr needs a passport photo for his Blue Badge renewal - I am not looking forward to completing his application form - but hey ho such is life! So mild today which is lovely, but shame about the rain... Onwards and upwards! Take care all x 1 2 Quote
louby loo Posted February 21 Posted February 21 So, so fast the weeks are flying! Hope the grandson is good 🤞- and not too spotty itchy. Ive done far too much eating out this week 😮... realy needed today's exercise class 😂 Had the grandchildren over for a few days, been to the zoo, out feeding ducks, haircuts etc- actually looking forward to going back to work Monday for the rest!!! Just remembered I have a softplay party tomorrow 😳🙄😂... Have a good weekend all. 1 1 Quote
Froglet Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Sounds like you've both had a good week. I have met up with family and friends and am currently dog sitting for my sister. I'm querying just quite how I am fitting into a quarter of the sofa whilst the dog is taking up the rest. Am also pondering possible responses to give when he's looking at me hopefully as I'm eating a slice of toast and honey! I have done very little work which is good in many ways although I have no doubt I shall regret it tomorrow... Enjoy the weekend everyone! 2 1 Quote
zigzag Posted February 23 Posted February 23 Well what crazy weather it’s been this week! One day it’s lovely and sunny and the next it’s storm force winds and rain! It’s very confusing! I for one cannot wait for summer! Well some very exciting news was given to me last weekend (not allowed to tell anyone in real life) but feel it’s safe to tell my forum buddies! I’m going to be a Granny for the first time😄 so very excited! It’s early days still so just keeping everything crossed that it progresses well. And of course we have their wedding next month where hopefully they will have had the first scan and announce it to the whole family. Froglet the dog and the sofa problem is my life! Made especially worse when the Granddog is here as well as mine! (Not that I’m complaining, my life revolves around the dogs) Sunnyday hope the blue badge application went smoothly! I’ve been on the gov.uk website this weekend trying to get a utr number sorted for my youngest son who was home for a flying visit for the stag do! They really do make these forms complicated. Anyway, have a good week all. 3 Quote

SueFinanceManager Posted February 28 Posted February 28 How is it Friday again????? Seriously the time goes so fast it makes my head spin sometimes. Cold and bright here too, hoping the weather lasts for at least Saturday & Sunday morning as meeting friends and we are planning a wander round Arundel Saturday and staying in Littlehampton overnight so will be walking out for brunch Sunday morning ..... might need the fresh air and there is wine on the agenda 🍷 Lovely news Zigzag - I love being a nanny although as I am in Sussex and he is in Lancashire it is not so easy - thank goodness for facetime! Have fun weekends one and all and fingers crossed for fine weather for those of you inclined to garden 😬 1 1 Quote
zigzag Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Stunning here as well! Just need the mud to dry out now please. Really hope the weather is like this in three weeks time and not blowing gale force winds and rain! Have a lovely weekend all. 1 Quote
Mouseketeer Posted February 28 Posted February 28 Zigzag - That’s lovely news! Best wishes, my 1st grandson was 3 this week, just crazy and excited no 2 is due in a couple of months. sunnyday - CP has hit our setting too, must be the time of year What are my co-managers thinking of the DFE pushing the funding ‘must be free’ to parents …if all our parents decide not to pay the consumables fee it will cost us about 2.5k a term and on top the next pay increases just around the corner 😞 Have a good weekend all x 2 1 Quote
louby loo Posted March 1 Posted March 1 Morning everyone - late for the Friday check in again! 😂 Very sunny here today as was yesterday. Lazy weekend planned for me, having a few bits done the in garden so I'm keeping well away until it's my turn out there 🙄😊 I can't believe my second grand child is 2 next week! He will officially start at the preschool, and then that it my 'one year' notice (if I can last out the long) as he will start school nursery at 3. Mouseketeer - We only do term time school hours, so if I'm honest it doesn't really make much difference to us as we have very few paying anyway. It still makes me remember how undervalued we are though, and adds to my 'want to be of out of it now' even more. 🙁 2 1 Quote

I am incredible lucky to have a 6 yr old grandaughter 5yr old grandson and an 11mth old grandson - they are cousins and i cannot put into words how much they have impacted on our live 1 2 Quote
sunnyday Posted March 7 Author Posted March 7 Good morning - 'tis Friday How is everyone? Not the best week here - we have both got flippin' Covid - having successfully avoided it for five long years it got us 🤦♀️ the best news is that Mr S is completely asymptomatic can't believe it but so very grateful for that - I have been proper poorly but hopefully slowly improving now 🤞 Our lovely sons and daughters-in-law have taken over the 'caring duties' that we have for my very elderly mother-in-law so that's been really good All we have to do now is keep ourselves to ourselves and wait it out - I know that new guidance doesn't require anymore than 5 days isolation - but no way Jose that we will be out and about until we get negative test results I couldn't live with myself if I made anyone else ill At least we have lovely sunny weather! 🤣 Take care all x 2 1 Quote
SueFinanceManager Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Ahh sunnyday - sorry you are poorly......sending love and bestes get well wishes xx 1 Quote

I to have had the week from h*** Not really anything to do with us as such- but we've had so much bad news, with a bit of bad timing/luck thrown in for those concerned ... it has made it a week i'd like to totally forget! Hope everyone else has had a better week, and has a good weekend. x 1 Quote

I’m pleased to hear it! The virus seems to have depleted in strength since the early days, thankfully, but they do keep warning us about different variants that sound worrying! When Mike had it early on, the hospital whipped him round anti-virals to take. We had to notify the hospital immediately if he tested positive and they were here with the meds within the hour! 1 Quote
zigzag Posted March 15 Posted March 15 Sunnyday glad you are both ok now, good news. Louby lou the wedding is on Thursday! They are very excited! And long range forecast is looking good as well, so fingers crossed. My family from Kent are travelling down today so excited to see them and my youngest son is coming down from London on Wednesday and I’m always excited to see him! I’ve just been diagnosed with Rosacea which is horrible, it’s just come out of nowhere, I blame the hormones! So so am hoping it can be camouflaged and doesn't flare up to badly on the day. Don’t want to look like a bloody clown in the photos! 1 Quote
