sunnyday Posted October 25 Author Posted October 25 Good morning - 'tis Friday! (I have to say it - would feel unlucky not to!) Young Froglet - all your crafting activities sound great to me - and the best crafters have lots of UFOs (unfinished objects - well that what I tell myself anyway!) - I love the idea of a 'crochet workshop' - enjoy Louby - wow - your machine embroidery card making course sounds brilliant - would be way beyond my capabilities I already have two loads of washing out on my line and another in the machine - forecast is great - however it is looking suspiciously like rain... Happy half-term to those breaking up today! Take care all x 3 Quote

sunnyday Posted November 1 Author Posted November 1 Good morning - 'tis Friday Wow - the week has just whooshed by. How is it November already?! I had such a nice day yesterday - Knitting group in the morning which was so well attended, then met up with a small group of friends in the afternoon and then I had lots of little ghosties, ghoulies, witches, wizards and one dragon knocking at my door in the evening ❤️ Take care all x 1 3 Quote
louby loo Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Afternoon folks 😊 1st November 😮 Back to work Monday, and even with the run up to Christmas- usually my favorite term... I'm really not looking foward to going back 🙁 Sunnyday, your day sounded lovely. We had no Halloween visitors! In the 30+ years we've lived here we've had a grand total of about 6 children- and they were friends of ours 😂... it's just a bit too dark and creepy down our lane 👻👻 xx 3 1 Quote

Froglet Posted November 2 Posted November 2 I'm glad your knitting group is going so well Sunnyday. I met up with a friend I haven't seen for a year on Wednesday which was lovely. I've been feeling a bit ropey for the last couple of days but apart from a painful neck/shoulder this morning seem to be much better today. I am planning a domesticated weekend with cooking and cleaning to restore the house as I know it won't get a decent clean for the next 6 weeks. I have 1 more pumpkin that I'm going to make to display and then I'm going to call it a day on the pumpkin making and maybe go back to some socks I started a few weeks ago or even (shhhh) a Father you know who that I was given a kit for and started about 5 years ago - could this be the year he finally gets finished. I had a lovely idea for a window display yesterday which involves using chalk pens - I don't have any so a hour browsing stationery websites is probably on the cards. I should probably also spend half an hour clearing debris in the garden although it's a bit grey and damp here so maybe not! Have a lovely weekend everyone whatever you're up to! 2 Quote

My brain has truned to mush already!!😂 Hope the jabs go ok and no side affects... sadly I'm far to young to have any yet! (miffed as Andy has the Dr's ringing/messaging him to book appointments, while I'm left to seek out my own methods of vacinnations!! 🤔) Time does fly doesn't it Sunnday 😮 My grandaughter will soon be 5 ! xx 1 Quote
Froglet Posted November 9 Posted November 9 1 week in. It has been a busy one with open events at school. My brain is a bit mushy right now and I am taking the rest of the day off! 3 Quote

I was looking on Boots to book flu jab, was it £21 last year? Can’t remember 🤷♀️My local chemist does them for over 65 but not the paid for which is a nuisance. hope everyone is having a chilled weekend x 3 Quote
louby loo Posted November 9 Posted November 9 (edited) Our local Boots has stopped doing them, and so have Asda - which was my 'go to' walk-in. (£13) Edited November 9 by louby loo 2 Quote
sunnyday Posted November 15 Author Posted November 15 Good morning - 'tis Friday How is everyone? Nothing at all exciting to mention today. Hope that those needing to find venues for vaccines have had some luck now. Take care all x 1 Quote
zigzag Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Hello Sunnyday, Just where do the weeks go? Was poorly last weekend with a Covid similar virus, which really wiped me out, then very kindly passed it on to my husband! So an iffy week! Have booked a hotel in Kent for December as we are going up to see my son in London for the first time since he moved. I literally cannot wait to give him the biggest hug, I may not let go! Going to spend the day and evening in London with him and planning to do lots of Christmas sightseeing, markets and the lights. Quite exciting as it’s been years since I went into London. Nothing exciting planned for the weekend, got one job tomorrow and then think we will go out for Sunday dinner as a treat and an excuse not to cook! Looking forward to seeing my other son and his fiancée as they have been in Cyprus for the week. Have a lovely weekend all. Xx 1 Quote
zigzag Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Had the whole of the local beach to myself this morning! Dogs had an amazing time. 4 1 Quote

sunnyday Posted November 22 Author Posted November 22 Good morning - 'tis Friday (again) Another week has just 'whooshed' by - have been quite busy but nothing interesting enough to share here... How is everyone? My life - it's so cold - I am sure that I have never, ever mentioned before that I don't do cold 😉 Has anyone got/had snow? ❄️ We have Storm Bert to look forward to now - 'Bert' seems like such a nice gentle name - but guess I won't be thinking that over the weekend 🤣 Take care all x 1 Quote
louby loo Posted November 22 Posted November 22 Hi everyone! Very cold here! We did have some snow Tuesday morning I was stuck in traffic driving through the forest and it really was quite beautiful watching the big flakes falling all around me........ then 30 mins later all gone - my kind of snow ❄️ Time flying past and I'm away next week, then only two more weeks at work!😮😮😮 Not sure where this term has gone. Only just heard of 'Bert' I do hope he's kind 🙃 cx 2 Quote
Mouseketeer Posted November 23 Posted November 23 Well I missed a whole week 🤷♀️ We had snow too, but honestly the staff were more excited about getting out in it than the children, and so many tears once outside they had to come back in, a few years ago we’d of had to drag them in kicking and screaming 😞 It’s seemed like an endless term but is now going to fast with too much to do/organise. Hope storm Bert isn’t too destructive for anyone 💨 2 Quote
zigzag Posted November 23 Posted November 23 No snow here thank goodness but my god Bert is making himself known! Bert was my Grandads name! I could do with having a few more hot flushes as it’s very cold here! Mousie, that’s really sad that the children wanted to go in, I’m quite shocked by that. Sign of the times do you think? Have a good weekend all, stay warm and safe. 3 Quote
Mouseketeer Posted November 24 Posted November 24 (edited) I think it must be zigzag, trying to get some out at any time is a struggle now, I wonder with some if it’s more about having to get kitted up to go out in the wet/cold weather, I was asking a few of our 4 yr olds struggling to just pull outdoor trousers on who dresses them and do they put their own pJ’s on, and all said ‘mummy does it’, I’m am always sending home asking parents to support children with their independence, lots of ideas including start with PJ’s as less rushed at that time of day, hair scrunchies to pull over feet if struggling with putting socks on but what can you do when they ignore everything 🤷♀️ Edited November 24 by Mouseketeer 2 1 Quote

sunnyday Posted November 29 Author Posted November 29 Good morning - 'tis Friday How is everyone? Today marks the first anniversary of the day that Mr S had his major surgery - can't believe that really...it has been 'life-changing' for him - he will never be 'well' but I don't for one minute think that he would still be with us now if it hadn't been for that op - so for that I will be eternally grateful. Yesterday, at knitting one of the ladies brought in a 'knitting pattern book' published in 1938 and costing 7d - I love these tangible links with the past and spent an age looking through it - women back then must have had amazing eye sight - print was so small and not a lot in the way of spacing - I imagine that all women then would have needed to be able to knit and sew... We gave our Church it's 'Christmas clean' on Wednesday - not sure what happened to the cleaning 'team' - it was just three of us - all good though Church looks and smells lovely now...perhaps that should be 'it looks and smells divine' 😉 We haven't talked 'Strictly' this year - who is watching? I am firmly team 'Chris and Dianne' - I find it astonishing that she can teach him and that he can execute the dances. Louby - do you want to pop down for a spot of 'wreath making' on Thursday? Have you managed to find anywhere close to you to do that? Enough of my rambling... Take care all x Quote
