Cait Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 We have a Mum who really struggles with ideas to keep her two year old busy. At half term she said she spent a fortune 'keeping her entertained'. The Manager wants to cover the back of the newsletter with cheap and fun ideas for children. Such as - Make crowns out of paper bags. Make perfume in a jam jar with petals and water. Go on a snail hunt and then have a race. You know the type of thing. So any ideas for this would be brilliant, if you have a minute ..... Quote

Guest Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Make a watering can from a 1 litre milk bottle. Take this and a bucket of water into the garden for a happy 30 minutes. Build a bug house from sticks and stones. Blow football with a ping-pong ball and a couple of straws. Quote

Fredbear Posted June 13, 2016 Posted June 13, 2016 Mud,mud, glorious mud. Old pans, spoons, water. Dough, easy to make, add enhancements, scents, sparkles. Den building. Use chairs, material, pegs, under tables with cloth covering. Nature walk, fresh air, collect objects. Picnic in a park. Take bubbles, football. Painting, with water, or large paper and paint in the garden. Bowls, pots, various tubs, with water in the garden, great fun. Bug hunting. Nature art. Be creative with all those leaves, twigs, feathers collected and make a piece of art. Make simple instruments out of rice, dried pasta. Decorate the outside of a plastic bottle, youghurt pot. Dress up. Shoes, clothes, material, jewellery, hats. Make cakes. Simple sponge recipe, let them measure, mix, ice and decorate. And of course the obligatory lick of the bowl. Quote
thumperrabbit Posted June 14, 2016 Posted June 14, 2016 Tell her to be brave and send a text to all friends saying something like 'I'm taking x to the park tomorrow I'll be there from 11am, if you are free bring a picnic and a blanket we'd love to see you' she maybe surprised by the amount of people who are also struggling to keep their little ones amused. 3 Quote
