I will let the children decide BUT I am starting a new class with a new 'Barnaby Bear' and wondered what names you have for your 'bear that goes home' with the children, if you have one!

One of our preschoolers got a new cat and wanted to call him 'chase' , chase the cat funnily his mum declined personally I thought it would be great , sorry slight detour but sunny day' pat the dog ' reminded me of this

xD Years (and years) ago one of our little girls told us that her cat was called 'Carpet' - I asked her mum about it and she said "yes that's right so called because it's always under your feet"!!! :D

We have 'Flip' the bear. No idea why?? It's always been called that.

I like that. Ideally, I would like to have a name that is unlikely to be used as a child's name, so 'Flip' would be good.

Any other ideas welcome!

Thanks for all your thoughts everyone. :1b

Here he is - thought you might like to meet the 'bear with no name'!

Bernard or Bernadette ( meaning bold as a bear)

Biggles

Bumpkin

Batch

Travis

Don't ask me why I have chosen some of these.

I like Bumpkin and the idea of alliteration, too!

Our bear Flip has an interesting life. We realised it was a very masculine bear, so next time it appeared, it was as his twin sister Bella who arrived with her backpack!! The children love it and it is one of the few things that we manage to engage most parents with.
