Upsy Daisy Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 A thread on another forum where a teacher is using a reward chart to try to get a child with sensory processing disorder to sit still on the carpet has prompted me to share this video. I have linked to it before but I don't think it does any harm to remind ourselves once in a while that some children have to choose between sitting still and concentrating. They simply can't do both successfully. 3

Guest Posted July 1, 2015 Posted July 1, 2015 I wasn't even aware that SPD existed until having my daughter, who has just been diagnosed with ASD (so I have been doing a LOT of reading up!) - I was aware that some children have sensory issues, but it hadn't crossed my mind that not being able to sit still was one of them. I have been a lot more mindful of this since and don't mind fidgety bums so much now! Thanks for sharing
