twinthinguk Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 I hear on the radio that we are due a heat wave, peaking on Wednesday, do you have a set policy to protect children? I think ours will probably be to stay indoors after a set time of day...which is common sense, and I imagine it depends where you are in the country.
Fredbear Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 No set policy, but a huge folder of common sense. Too hot stay indoors and have plenty of water available. 8
SueJ Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 Lots of common sense, a pop up gazebo for added shade and the paddling pools are coming out this week :1b 2
twinthinguk Posted June 29, 2015 Author Posted June 29, 2015 cool x we have gazebo's and paddling pools, I have already forewarned parents, we only have a set number of spare hats! its amazing how many blonde and red headed children do not have hats with them! x 1
narnia Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 we went to poundland and bought a dozen spare hats. We will have paddling pools and the pop up gazebo is always up, even for the barest hint of sunshine. We bought sun screen as well............but indoors over the hottest part of the day and our children will be getting 'watered' very half an hour. I can guarantee that almost none of our children will arrive with hats/cream/water
sunnyday Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 No set policy, but a huge folder of common sense. Too hot stay indoors and have plenty of water available. This made me laugh out loud! Of all of my zillion folders - my 'folder of common sense' is by far my favourite!!! 8
Rafa Posted June 29, 2015 Posted June 29, 2015 This made me laugh out loud! Of all of my zillion folders - my 'folder of common sense' is by far my favourite!!! Yes mine too - I carry it everywhere with me.......apart from maybe the odd Friday Night! 3
SueJ Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 These common sense folders are just not good enough ladies - there were some twitters with an excerpt from the following their 43 page heatwave plan:  B) B) https://www.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/429384/Heatwave_Main_Plan_2015.pdf
sunnyday Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Eh 'twits' was that? I will open my 'common sense folder' shortly and hope to survive the next couple of days  if you don't hear from me again you will know that I should have read the 43 page plan 3
Stargrower Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 See for me the common sense folder works well...except in a heatwave when my brain melts. 3
Guest Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 (edited) The 4 page version - must be read whilst holding a large ice lolly/ice cream though Edited June 30, 2015 by LittleRedRobin
