Cait Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Mum: My printer is bust again. Can you get me another one just the same, I just bought inks. Me: I'm not sure they make that one any more Mum: well how silly to go on making inks for it then! Sigh 4 Quote
SueFinanceManager Posted February 17, 2013 Posted February 17, 2013 Listening to a group of my mums friends talking about how awful it was that animals were dying of that bluetooth.....I smiled and explained it was blue tongue 1 Quote
Guest Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 My mum asked me if I had one of those posh Blueberry phones...no mum but my Blackberry is a great little phone! Quote
Rea Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I don't go out with my mom anymore but when I did I used to tell the shop assistants it was 'care in the community' as I gently dragged her away She used to come out with some pearls 1 Quote
Beau Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I have a suspicion that my mum has been twiddling with the timer on the boiler. She has been complaining that the heating is going off before she goes to bed but then it is on and hot in the middle of the night. She said that it was okay though as she has taken her electric heater upstairs to put on in the bedroom to keep it warm until she goes to sleep. My sister was due to go over and I said I would mention it to her so she could check what the problem was. Mum: No problem at all, the little heater works fine. Me: Yes, but it's more expensive to use than the central heating. Mum: What do you mean? Me: The electric heater costs more because it uses a lot of electricity. Mum (outraged): How will they know I'm using it? Can they see in my bedroom? 4 Quote

"They are very unusual that's Mistletoe" Well how was I meant to know  2 Quote

Rea Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 I have to own up to making silly comments myself too. Not long ago I bought a new mascara, on the advert it has a yellow brush. I opened it and said 'oh, mine isnt yellow'. How long did it take you to see the flaw?? Quote
sunnyday Posted February 18, 2013 Author Posted February 18, 2013 Oh Rea - I do that sort of thing all the time - I guess we have a gift really - the ability to laugh at ourselves! :1b Quote
Cait Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Well I didn't know mistletoe grew on poplar, though it was just on apple, pear etc trees. Quote

louby loo Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Well I didn't know mistletoe grew on poplar, though it was just on apple, pear etc trees. Often see it in our local forest, can't remember on which trees though- but not fruit trees. [not saying it doesn't grow on fruit trees :1b :1b ] xxx Quote
Cait Posted February 18, 2013 Posted February 18, 2013 Here's a quote following a brief 'google The main host plants are apple, hawthorn, lime and poplar trees, although mistletoe is occasionally seen on maple, sycamore, willow, crab apples, false acacia, ash, oak, plum, rowan and even cotoneaster. That's from a 'how to grow it' guide in the Telegraph So there we go, learn something new every day! Quote
