beth1
I know this is an old thread. However I am interested to know all about this course, since I quite fancy doing something short this year to keep my brain ticking over.
Cait
Well be warned, it's not for the faint-hearted! It's the most bizarre I've ever done and I was so pleased when it was finished. The assessment process is all done online (well the whole thing is!) and consists of multiple choice questions and complete the sentence/move the correct words into the boxes. There was a lot about brain development and what different areas of the brain do, different degrees of autism and research and clinical processes and not so much about actually 'understanding' the spectrum 'on the ground' as it were. If asked 'would you recommend to a friend?' I'd probably say 'no' unless they worked in a more autism/aspergers rich environment and had done all the training about autism that was available to practitioners
