Sue R Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Well, you couldn't resist any longer, hey??? Nice christmas theme there, Steve!!! By the way, anyone read Steve's account of the setting up of the Forum in the Articles section? Makes interesting reading! Sue Quote
Susan Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Gosh, I disappeared for half an hour and came back to a new look! Yes, Sue, I've read it! Better wish everyone a happy and busy Advent now! Keep opening those doors!!! Quote

Guest Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 i meant to add this little chapp to my reply - can't leave him out now! Quote
Steve Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Thanks very much - I thought I'd wait till December, unlike some of you! Quote
Inge Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Looks wonderful Steve, very festive ..... Inge Quote
Gezabel Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Oh dear I think I have lost the plot!! (not sure I had ever found it to start with mind you ) I read the first message and thought it related to Steve having changed to a Christmas Avatar (OK I know now that would probably have been in the avatar thread!) Sooo I set off to find Steve's latest post to see the 'new him' and concluded that as his avatar hadnt changed I had been got at by the gremlins and my PC was showing an old one I carried on my wander round the site and saw additions to this thread but could still not see Steve's new avatar. I can only conclude I am a lost cause and if there are prizes being awarded for powers of observation I am at the very end of the queue Almost an hour since I started looking I have JUST twigged what you are all talking about!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh! and VERY nice it is too and thank you Steve! Quote
Inge Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Never mind geraldine.... it happens to us all eventually.... Inge Quote
Rea Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Screen looks lovely, but what was there before?? Quote
Sue R Posted December 2, 2004 Author Posted December 2, 2004 It would have been me, but it was (relatively) early and I was still fresh!! Sue Quote
Steve Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 It was plain white Rea. If you look on any of the About Us pages, I haven't updated those. Mundia there is a little snow scene with a Christmas tree at the top of the page. You might be able to see the colours, if not the detail? Quote
Beau Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Glad you've joined us now Steve. Can I just say that I only got my avatar so early because of peer pressure. Quote
Rea Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Mmmm...What was it my mom used to say carol???? If somebody jumped off a cliff, would you follow them Quote
SueFinanceManager Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 I've never been called 'peer pressure' before, I'll add it to the list of names that have been directed at me Well Steve, when you finally do it, boy you do it in style. It looks fab and really cool Well done you and ho ho ho and all that Sue Quote
JacquieL Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 And it has cheered me up as this year we have no tree lights at school, no stage lights and no Shristmas star as they were left out of the annual safety check!!! Quote
Steve Posted December 2, 2004 Posted December 2, 2004 Thank you all! I'm glad you've all enjoyed the effect! Hope you're all as excited by the prospect of the extended edition of the Return of the King coming out - which will be my most exciting Christmas present... I know at least one amongst you who will be (mentioning no names Linda)! Quote
Sue R Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 Oh most definitely Steve!! But I'll be watching alone, my husband really can't see what all the fuss is about . But as my son's spending Christmas at his girlfriend's, I'll have it all to myself!!! Sue Quote
Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Too right Steve-it is there on my Christmas present list. So, unfortunately I have to wait until Christmas day but I am commandeering the television!! Then Gavin only has Monday and Tuesday off after Christmas so I am going to take my mum home, probably Wednesday, find the biggest box of chocolates, take the kettle and cup with coffee etc into the lounge and watch all 3 back to back!!! Sad I know and most of you will think I am barking......oh yes you're so right!!! Linda Quote
Rea Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Linda, it's the only way they should be watched. I did it and it was brilliant. Enjoy. Quote
Beau Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Rea, the only trouble about not jumping off the cliff is that you never know if there's something great at the bottom and you're missing out by not going. And when everyone around you is doing it you begin to wonder................ Quote
Rea Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 Not so much a case of jumping nowadays though Carol, more likely to hurl myself. (am sitting rocking and twitching ) Quote
Sue R Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 Oh!! SO, So, So tempting...Now, when can I manage that.....................errrrm, AHA!! Thursday 30th December!!! Hey, we'll be doing it together - ooo-er! Sue Quote
Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I have watched 1 and 2 extended versions and then watched the short version of 3. But I am really looking forward to the additional bits in 3. linda Quote
Sue R Posted December 3, 2004 Author Posted December 3, 2004 Me too, the extras in 2 really helped the big picture fall together, I thought, reflecting some of the 'history' bits that get lost in the conversion from book to film. Although I'm really sad that the Faramir/Eowyn sub-plot got kind of lost in the film. 'The Houses of Healing' is one of my favourite parts of the book. Sue Quote
Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 How can you have an extended version of a film already over 3 hours long!! Ill wait for the abridged version i think. Quote
Guest Posted December 3, 2004 Posted December 3, 2004 I'm confused... What is this Return of the King. I've never heard of it. Please enlighten this poor soul.... Quote
