Anyone good at cryptic clues? My brain is in meltdown. First clue: Primate hot, to a degree, wearing fur hat. 8 letters. Second clue: Piece stripped back - fragments said to be lucky? JacquieL Posted April 11, 2009 Posted April 11, 2009 I think the first could be gorrilla. Grills are hot and gorrilla is a primate. It must be some sort of monkey or a human as they are primates, but not sure about the degree or fur hat could be a gorrilla cap. Quote

I did think about religious primates, and I wondered about baboons because of the degree bit (BA) but the fur hat bit has me stumped! The first letter would seem to be 'b' because the concensus of opinion was that the answer to the clue "ugly women's trousers" is BAGS. I bought the paper today expecting to find the answers only to find that they won't publish them til Monday! I'm sorry I asked now! And yes, I'm sure Beau would be a great help! Maz Quote

"Offered notes on girls in summer wear" (10) I have an answer that I think is wrong - an anagram of 'notes on girls' minus the R and an O. Quote
