  1. Froglet and Louby, do you think it’s a women thing or an age thing or both? I’ve always been a worrier even when I was younger but I can’t recall that I used to overthink everything like this. My worst time for it is from 5am every morning!
  2. Oh Sunnyday am sorry to hear that. Has she hurt herself badly? Falling is such a worry at that age isn’t it. I send my best wishes. Another reminder to self to start doing some kind of strength training! Starting a weekly clean today for a new client. Was meant to be last week but after the storm that was not possible. So today’s the day. Why do I always get nervous going to a new job, it’s so daft. She Is my childhood best friends Mum as well so she has seen me grow up since I was 8! The New Year’s resolution to not overthink or get anxious about silly things has totally gone out the window (and did by the 1st Jan if I’m honest) Blooming hormones have SO much to answer for. Hope you all have a lovely weekend whatever you are doing. Sunnyday much love to you and mum in law. Xx
  3. Our water came back on Saturday just before they delivered bottles! Then it’s been a bit intermittent as they get all the repairs sorted. But just had an automated message to say they are closing the bottled water collection points, so guess it’s all sorted now. I was prepared for the power cut but not for the water disruption! It’s the last thing you think of in a storm. But very grateful to everyone who has worked so hard to get it sorted. My son’s power has only just been restored in the last hour. So that’s such a long time to be off.
  4. One tree took the hedge and the tarmac with it!
  5. Wowsers! That was some weekend. Power went off at 6:30 on Thursday evening and has just been turned on at 7:30 on Sunday evening. But we also have no water since Saturday! Which is hideous. Thankfully all the family are safe and so are our houses. We have lost all our fence and lots of ceramic pots and mum lost her greenhouse but nothing else luckily. Some people had their windows blown in. A massive fir tree came down at the top of the village which was quite a sight, luckily no one hurt. It was a very frightening experience, the noise was awful, except the eye of the storm which was eerily quiet and still. Not an experience I want to repeat. Hope everyone else is safe and well.
  6. Hope 2026 is a very happy and healthy year for all.
  7. I am thank you. Took me a good week after being able to get out of bed before I felt ‘normal’ again. So really lost 2.5 weeks to it. Never want it again! Thank you for asking lovely Sunnyday. Xxx
  8. Hope everyone had a happy Christmas. Ours was quiet but lovely. Looking forward to my son coming down for a few days now before new year.
  9. I’ve been knocked out with the flu. Never had it before and NEVER want it again. I have never felt so hideously unwell in all my life. Completely knocked me flat on my back for five days. Am up and about in the house now but completely wiped out if I do anything. I hope you all stay clear of it.
  10. Froglet that foggy feeling is awful isn’t it. I’ve suffered with this since being in peri-menopause and found that my attention span is stupidly short. I’ve decided to really cut my time on Instagram come the new year as I find myself scrolling endlessly these days, it’s really not healthy. Louby loo how lovely that your step grandson stepped in, good for him.
  11. Sounds lovely Sunnyday. I’ve unfortunately picked up some type of virus. Cough, temperature, chills etc. Am hoping that it is a short lived one and get back to normal ASAP. I thank my lucky stars it not the awful flu though. Hope everyone has a good weekend.
  12. Sorry I’m late again! Gosh reading your posts about work make me so glad that I’m not dealing with all that anymore. Sorry I know that is completely unhelpful but I really get anxious feelings when I read them. Well the weather has been truly biblical down here this weekend! Friday we had a power cut from 2pm until 2am (that was fun) made us realise just how much we rely on electricity not just for the day to day but also entertainment. Quite a sad reflection actually. Luckily my husband still managed to fly from Newquay to London to see Spurs play at their stadium. A bucket list item ticked off for him and our son. I had a very big house clean yesterday (have been dog sitting for two extra dogs) and my goodness they both shed! Then I put up the tree and a few decorations. Very early for me but it’s so dark and gloomy that I thought the fairy lights would be bright and cheerful! Excited to watch the F1 finale this afternoon, very unpatriotic of me but I don’t actually want Norris to win, I want Max too. Enjoy the rest of the weekend all. Xx
  13. I agree Sunnyday. My elderly lady yesterday said, the next time you come we will be in December! I think I’m in denial that we are actually at that time of year! Well today I did a very long dog walk as we had some beautiful sunshine and thought I better make the most of it. It was lovely. Still spotting plants that are flowering out of season! It was a rhododendron yesterday! The world’s gone mad! Have a lovely weekend all.
  14. My husband is flying up on the 6th to see our son and go to the Tottenham game, maybe I’ll hitch a lift to Gatwick and you can pick me up on the way!🤣
  15. Careful froglet you may end up with all us Friday crew!
  16. Ohhh that cake sounds interesting, let us know the verdict.
  17. Perfect! You know us so well!
  18. We had a proper hard frost this morning, which is rare for right down the end of Cornwall! Was blooming freezing. But it’s been a beautiful day. Cait that blanket makes me smile, it’s just like one that my Mum made decades ago and is a core memory of always being there when I was growing up. I think she probably still has it, being the hoarder that she is! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and the temp warms up for you all. Xx
  19. Hello I’m here, sorry I missed last week and am late this week! I love the Friday catch ups, don’t stop Sunnyday! All good here, have finally got over the virus that I came home from holiday with! Took long enough. Have been adjusting to very reduced working hours, all the holiday cleans have stopped and one of my regulars has been away for a couple of months so feeling a bit weird adjusting after a busy summer. My beautiful grandson is doing really well, he is now nine weeks old (where does the time go?) just starting to get the smiles and chuckles now which just melts me. Wow it really is a special feeling being a grandma isn’t it? Just love it. Our weather has been unseasonably warm, but pleased to say it’s starting to feel chillier today. It’s crazy, the camellias are in full flower and the narcissus have been flowering for ages! I find the lack of seasons very unnerving! I hope everyone has a lovely week and promise not to be late to the Friday register next week!
  20. Happy birthday Froglet, hope you have a lovely day. 🎂🥳 xx
  21. I’m over a week late to the Friday thread. Have been away for the week to celebrate my Mums 90th. We hired a massive house in Devon (sleeps 20) and gave her the best celebration. We did lots of fun things, lovely walks and just enjoyed spending time with the extended family. Not going to lie, I was very glad to come home as the four children are not disciplined and quite badly behaved which I do find very wearing by the end of the week. This is my Mum on her birthday brunch and when she beat us at bowling!! Hope you had a good birthday Sunnyday, belated birthday wishes to you.
  22. A bit late to the register this week! The storm wasn’t too bad down here thank goodness. I’m absolutely loving being a Nana, my heart just swells to twice the size when I look at him. Can’t wait for the fun adventures that we will share in the future. just off to work, then roast with all the family. Have a lovely Sunday all.
  23. Oh Cait, so sad to read this. I’m so sorry for you. We are so blessed to have dogs in our lives but the time is just too short. How amazing that she stayed with you for exactly a year after losing your husband. I’m sending you the biggest virtual hug. Xxx
  24. Good afternoon, the weather is not glorious but it’s actually DRY! So will take that any day over the miserable rain that we have had. I’m so glad that I was organised this year and did quite an early allotment and garden clean up! Good job as we seem to have gone straight into winter! Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. Xx
  25. Late to posting again. But a special arrival on Thursday! First Grandchild was born, three and a half weeks early! All is well and they came home today. We got to meet him yesterday and oh my goodness, he is beautiful! Edwin Robert. I’m a very proud lady as you can see!
