  1. Oh yes, there is that ………. But on balance, most of it went on outdoors 🤣🤭
  2. That was absolutely it! One of my staff had a SEND key child that she didn’t think was making any progress at all so I showed her this method and she was delighted and amazed! By using the scale she were able to identify where the child was mainly focussed and take an experience into that activity, and watch how the child interacted and extended their own learning.
  3. I kept one going for several years until my daughter borrowed it for some decoration at work and it promptly died 🤭. awe and wonder has to be a wasp nest. Absolutely incredible that the chomp away on my wood fence and then spit that gunk out to create something mind blowing!
  4. I used to love the last term of the year! It somehow didn’t seem as stressful even though there was a lot to cram in! I think it was because the children were outside more and staff seemed that much more relaxed.
  5. Fabulous! Yes it’s Friday again! Whoop whoop!
  6. Fabulous! Could have done with that when I was doing my OU and had to research the scale for myself! I used it a great deal after that, and taught my staff. We found it helped hugely with observations and Mrs O was really impressed as she’d not come across it herself!
  7. Oh how fabulous! You really did get to know them then! I was thinking as I read this that I wouldn’t know the women I trained with at all, never mind remembering any names!
  8. Also got all Zebedee’s bedding on the line so that’s all lovely and fresh for him. Smells fabulous. Lovely to hear an ice cream van going round today. Summer is on its way! (Although I’m stuck with ‘daisy, daisy, give me your answer do’ in my head )
  9. Keeping everything crossed but the figures yesterday didn’t look promising 😳
  10. Zebedee having chemo 5. We are hoping 6 will be sufficient of the promised 6-10 cycles. Lovely day in York tho!
  11. I thought you were the ‘sewer-upper’
  12. Busy sewing gift bags at the moment. Knitting needles only being used to poke corners. But I’m using my ‘knitting Nancy’ to make the cords, so technically still knitting 🤣🤭
  13. Fabulous idea!
  14. Thank you. We’ve been to Filey for fish and chips and a gentle walk on the beach. X
  15. Aww thank you xxx. It’s a lovely sunny start but forecast doesn’t look so brill. We are hoping to go to the beach.
  16. Our long tailed tits have fledged! There are at least 5 babies in the front garden - so ridiculously excited! I want to rush out there and scoop them up off the damp grass! 🤣🤣🤣
  17. Well wasn’t that a lovely coronation! I bet they’re soooo relieved - what a security nightmare!
  18. Ugh. Feel better soon! I’ve heard of a few folk who have it at the moment.
  19. Friday already! January took forever and now it’s racing by!
  20. She used card as she couldn’t source the Pellon in the time she wanted. She’s very much a ‘do it whilst the inspiration strikes’ kind of girl. 🤣🤭
  21. Card holder pattern is here - the one my daughter used.
  22. Yes I’ve seen those, my daughter made some for a friend for exactly the same reason! They’re very good.
  23. That’s really generous. Our knit and natter made bees for Earth Day and they were scattered around the town, in shop windows and on letterboxes etc. it was quite fun. Yarn bombing! We made neonatal blankets over the winter, and one of the ladies was sewing up long scarves that her aunt had knit in her old age and making them into a blanket to donate to a water boxes for Africa charity, I think she said.
  24. Oh and a hat for Zebedee as most of his hair has gone now. It’s hand spun wool so has thick bits and scarily thin bits and occasional bits of a different colour caught in, so very random! He asked me to make ‘something bright’ so I think this fits the bill 🤣🤣🤭
  25. I’ve finally got round to making up a peg bag kit that I bought in the first lockdown when everyone was sewing and baking! It got put to one side whilst I produced scrub hats and masks of course and has kept resurfacing during every subsequent sort in my sewing room. If I do another, I’ll simplify it considerably, not least by buying bias binding rather than parping about making it! oh, and I won’t spend days hand quilting in a spiral with chain stitch!
