  1. Proper madness! I’ve sent her that pic, and hoping that the phrase ‘limit their contact ….’ Could be utilised.
  2. Slightly off topic, but my limited account on here won’t let me post elsewhere. Please could you help my childminder friend? She has an account and uses Tapestry - she’s just not confident about posting on here and finding the right place. Please can I pick your wonderful brains? I’m a childminder, and I’ve said throughout the pandemic that if anyone has a positive case of covid in their household, then I will not have the little one. I am under increasing pressure from one family in particular because her ‘older two’ have apparently isolated separately from the rest of the house - which I don’t fully understand, to be honest! I could do with putting a message out today on my group conversation to parents. Would you maintain what I’ve said so far, or should I allow this one in on the parent’s say so? I really need your help on this one, please. What would you do?
  3. Also binge watched that this year - all of it including the end, which if you’ve not got there yet is a total shocker.
  4. Oh crikey! I hope she gets sorted quickly and she’s able to have the procedure quickly and it sorts things out! What a shocker for you though. 😳😳. Thinking about you extra ‘specially! So many ups and downs this year, and will continue here for the foreseeable with Zebedee’s cancer in his bones. But we’ve got my daughter’s wedding in August to keep positive for, and it’s something to aim at. wishing all my forum buddies a happy and healthy ‘22
  5. Zebedee’s had one too ……
  6. I do quite like them. Not so good in summer if you’re doing something big, as all the work is in your lap continually.
  7. Have you tried bamboo? They’re meant be good. I’ve got a set but I’m afraid they make me shudder when I slide the stitches along. I prefer short needles, if there’s too many for my shorties then I go circular.
  8. I wish! No, spotted on Twitter. 🤭😂
  9. Anyone up for a gingerbread competition🤭🤭
  10. Yes, there was a lot of ‘what would you like to say to Johannes/John/ Rose/Giovanni’, over and over. A lot of filling that they could have filled with a montage of the pro dances over the weeks maybe.
  11. Everyone happy with the Strictly result?
  12. Thank you x
  13. Changing the subject totally, does anyone know of anywhere that’s really good for Mother of the Bride dresses? Googling it is showing loads of things, but now that Dennebums is no more, I don’t know where to start!! 😱😬
  14. I got sucked into it just after moving here! I made the mistake of calling into our preschool to say I was qualified DBS etc if they needed someone at short notice, only to have my arm ripped off as their manager had left suddenly! I helped out for a couple of terms, but my heart wasn’t in it as I wanted to be retired and free to be out and about with Zebedee!
  15. Mine were worse in my first Christmas after retirement as I kept saying ‘ah there’s bags of time to do those yet’ rather than ‘crikey, let’s get those done and out of the way!’
  16. You need a punchbag for Christmas! Sunnyday, is everyone all better now?
  17. Ah, did anyone else sing that to the Indians one?
  18. Hobbycraft have them too, if you don’t want to feed the Amazon animal.
  19. Yes, it’s been a family thing for a really long time. My daughter worked in childcare for quite a while in Guernsey too, but the salary wasn’t good enough so she went into hospitality.
  20. It’s a very old one - my grandmother taught it in her nursery, my mother in hers, and I did in my preschool. It doesn’t matter too much that they can’t say all the words at first, but they loved shouting out the numbers.
  21. One dainty daffodil makes its way through up pops another one and that makes two! Two dainty daffodils, nodding by a tree, up pops another one, and that makes three! Three dainty daffodils, what a golden score, up pops another one and that makes four! Four dainty daffodils, glad to be alive, Up pops another one, and that makes five! Five dainty daffodils, swaying in the sun, someone picks themself a bunch And now there are none.
  22. Mine too! 😡😡
  23. So does everyone have a stash of testing kits at home?
  24. Well worth all the pushing! Phew. Gorgeous. ❤️❤️
  25. I saw one like this the other day that looked lovely! They’re just autumn leaves threaded onto a coat hanger. You untwist the bit at the top and make it into a circle (keeping the hooky bit for hanging) then just thread them on, piercing through the centre of the each leaf, then re-twist the twisty bit and hang it up!
