We’ve got a dusting but the blue sky and sunshine are here now, so the sledging party will probably be cancelled folk, sorry. If Sunnyday still has some, we’d best meet up there again if she’s got her balaclava dry

Depends what sort of snow it is. If it’s frozen, fairly dry stuff that’s blowing about anyway, it might work. Generally though it’s too wet and heavy to get airborne again.

That song in my head this morning ‘Welcome to my world’. For us ‘ere up north it’s time to start and think about maybe putting a jumper and long trousers on 🤣🤣.

A sad indictment on society these days - that generation who expect their ‘rights’ whatever they may be. Heaven forbid they should actually have to DO anything themselves. Seems to be becoming more common, sadly.

My life seems to have been full of committees. 3 different PCCs, 2 boards of governors, 2 PTA’s, a restoration committee, a preschool committee, girl guiding, childminders and early years, church social and fundraising, church hall management, churches together………. It can be never ending and I always seem to end up as Secretary or treasurer!

Hi, I’ve been out of the loop a long time now - since 2015, so things have moved on. From what I can see, there seems to be less of a focus on curriculum planning - other than your general, long term coverage of major festivals throughout the year. Possibly the fact that you’ve had no replies could suggest that everyone else is waiting to see the replies too! I do hope someone comes along soon. In the meantime, have you looked at the fantastic podcast posts on here that mag help?

Thanks, I do use her recipes but the brownie ‘traybakes’ seem to be the 8” square. Oh well, onwards and upwards. Thank you for your input. I’ll keep searching.

yes it has to be gluten free, I don’t have any muggle ingredients in my house 🤣. I can generally convert recipes though, and of course there are some brownie recipes that don’t have any flour in them anyway. Yes I use a lot of Becky’s recipes. Her brownies are generally 8” square and I need a larger traybake and sometimes things don’t transfer well doubled up. I can’t be bothered to make several 8” squares - plus there’ll be too many edge pieces! 🤭🤭 edited to add that I’ve asked her for advice too.

Has anybody got a fabulous chocolate brownie recipe? I was disappointed with mine really. Could possibly have been because I put chocolate chunks inside because of walnuts (thought it safer). my tins are 30x23 and 32x23 Have you tried and tested it?

My brother in law owns his dental practice (just him and nurses/receptionist) and his power contract runs out next week. He has been onto his provider and the new quote is 10x what he is currently paying 😳😳. He can’t afford to trade if that’s the case - I wonder how many more dental practices will bite the dust as well. He doesn’t qualify for any help

Joe Lycett said he would shred £10,000 of his own money if David Beckham doesn’t end his sponsorship of the Quatar World Cup. He ‘is prepared to donate the money to charity’ if David agrees to drop it within the next week. He will live stream the shredding on Sunday, kick off time otherwise. It’s about gay rights and human rights.

Eeek! So much Christmas stuff in the shop this year and do much pressure for families to buy things as usual for their children. It’s going to be a very bleak new year for lots of families, I think, with debt mounting up. Then we get celebrities on tv saying they’ll be shredding money if something or other doesn’t happen with the football. It’s heartbreaking

Mad busy couple of days baking! It was our church bonfire social and I was responsible for the gluten free element of the cakes. I did rainbow buns (extremely popular and went first!) brownies, flapjack (shown upside down because I had to smoosh a layer of chocolate on the base because it’s deliciously sticky) ginger crunch slice and date slice. We had a huge turnout! Mostly, I suspect, because it was in the vicarage garden, and folks wanted a nosey! 🤣🤣🤣🤭
