  1. It’s the time of year for feeling blue. Have you considered getting a Sad Lamp or using a daylight bulb? I know you’ve got that cold hanging about, but the extra lift the light gives really is there! I got one many moons ago and it completely lifted my winter months! I’ve not needed it since I retired as it’s easier to get outside at random times to get sunlight vitamins. It’s a tough time of year - and all the additional stresses really don’t help!! Sending gentle hugs your way xx
  2. From taps only - speaking as someone who returned to Cumbria one evening to find it coming out of the striplights and power sockets 😳😬 I hope you’ve all had a thoroughly enjoyable few days, and now, buoyed up with Pringles and Ferraro rocher are ready to enter 2023. I wonder what this next year will bring us?
  3. Have there been some local burst pipes with the cold weather? They should let you know really. Bad form!
  4. Caught in a fishing net, we reckon
  5. Of course. You know me so well!
  6. She’s had my votes every week. I’ve found it hard to warm to the others. Initially I wanted Hamza for the win, as he’s such a lovely bloke, but I think he peaked with his couples choice, and that’s why he is doing it again. I do think that they should all do every dance, Fleur hadn’t done a foxtrot or a tango, Hamza hasn’t done a Paso or a Viennese Waltz, Molly hasn’t done a Salsa or a VW, Helen hasn’t done a Rhumba or a Tango! I’ve been keeping a check this year as I misremembered last year, with all the absences with Covid. they should leave the couples choice to this final - it’s just a showdance after all, so those who are doing it tonight are in effect doing two show dances, and that hardly seems fair!
  7. I don’t either! Meant to ask, have you enough for us all?
  8. Are the batteries still working in the fancy one with the FSF logo that lights up?
  9. We’ve got a dusting but the blue sky and sunshine are here now, so the sledging party will probably be cancelled folk, sorry. If Sunnyday still has some, we’d best meet up there again if she’s got her balaclava dry
  10. Depends what sort of snow it is. If it’s frozen, fairly dry stuff that’s blowing about anyway, it might work. Generally though it’s too wet and heavy to get airborne again.
  11. That song in my head this morning ‘Welcome to my world’. For us ‘ere up north it’s time to start and think about maybe putting a jumper and long trousers on 🤣🤣.
  12. All round to yours then for a change, to sledge off your roof instead of mine! Break out the hot chocolate - gluten free for me please and I’ll bring fudgy chocolate cake!
  13. A sad indictment on society these days - that generation who expect their ‘rights’ whatever they may be. Heaven forbid they should actually have to DO anything themselves. Seems to be becoming more common, sadly.
  14. Wowsers! So jealous! Mine live in this heavy glass bowl
  15. My life seems to have been full of committees. 3 different PCCs, 2 boards of governors, 2 PTA’s, a restoration committee, a preschool committee, girl guiding, childminders and early years, church social and fundraising, church hall management, churches together………. It can be never ending and I always seem to end up as Secretary or treasurer!
  16. Woooah! How is it Friday again!!!
  17. I’m obsessed with sea glass too! I’m glad it’s not just me! 🤭
  18. Hi, I’ve been out of the loop a long time now - since 2015, so things have moved on. From what I can see, there seems to be less of a focus on curriculum planning - other than your general, long term coverage of major festivals throughout the year. Possibly the fact that you’ve had no replies could suggest that everyone else is waiting to see the replies too! I do hope someone comes along soon. In the meantime, have you looked at the fantastic podcast posts on here that mag help?
  19. Thanks, I do use her recipes but the brownie ‘traybakes’ seem to be the 8” square. Oh well, onwards and upwards. Thank you for your input. I’ll keep searching.
  20. Thank you for that. Has he tried it in a traybake tin, so double the mixture or whatever?
  21. Abso-bloomin-fantastic! HUGE well done to you and all the team! I bet your cheeks are aching with grinning! Careful how you go on the rooftops - they’ll be slippery after the rain! Xx
  22. What wetness!!!! Absolutely hosing down here - I’m glad we are on a hill! I hope everyone else is okay. 😳😬
  23. If they are big traybake ones, yes please.
  24. yes it has to be gluten free, I don’t have any muggle ingredients in my house 🤣. I can generally convert recipes though, and of course there are some brownie recipes that don’t have any flour in them anyway. Yes I use a lot of Becky’s recipes. Her brownies are generally 8” square and I need a larger traybake and sometimes things don’t transfer well doubled up. I can’t be bothered to make several 8” squares - plus there’ll be too many edge pieces! 🤭🤭 edited to add that I’ve asked her for advice too.
  25. Has anybody got a fabulous chocolate brownie recipe? I was disappointed with mine really. Could possibly have been because I put chocolate chunks inside because of walnuts (thought it safer). my tins are 30x23 and 32x23 Have you tried and tested it?
